Chapter 1351 Extra: Aidan and Phoebe (26)
After Sienna bounced, Evelyn snagged the business card from Aidan and realized Sienna was the VP of the Lowe Group.
Evelyn thought it was kinda weird. She knew about the Lowe Group; it wasn't exactly a big deal around here, not even close to the Irvine Group these days.
Right then, Dermot strolled over. He saw the card in Evelyn's hand and his face got all serious. "The Lowe family ain't as simple as they look."
"Huh? What do you mean?" Evelyn glanced at Dermot, and everyone else turned to him too.
Dermot said, "The Lowe Group might not be famous, but the Lowe family is way more powerful than folks think. They got a bunch of businesses that aren't under the Lowe Group name, which is why it seems low-key. But if you count all their stuff, the Lowe family is, no joke, up there with the top ten families."
Evelyn frowned. If Dermot was right, things were about to get messy.
Evelyn asked, "How do you know this?"
"Someone from the Lowe Group hit me up for a project. Their finances seemed off, so I had someone dig into it," Dermot replied. If it wasn't for that, he wouldn't have known the Lowe Group was so sneaky.
Evelyn nodded and looked at Aidan, a bit worried. "Aidan, what do you think?"
"What's it got to do with me? I busted my butt to get here, didn't rely on anyone." Aidan shrugged, not caring if the Lowe family was a big deal.
Hearing him, Evelyn knew what Aidan was thinking. "Yeah, we all got your back."
Aidan turned Sienna down, but who knew if the Lowe family would just let it slide.
"Hold up," Niall suddenly chimed in, "She said she's Aidan's mom, right? At least do a DNA test. Why just take her word for it?"
When he found his real parents, he did a DNA test to be sure.
"Doesn't matter; I don't care anyway," Aidan said, turning away from the pool. Whether Sienna was his mom or not, he wasn't going with her, let alone joining the Lowe family.
Watching Aidan walk off, Phoebe got a bit worried. "Evelyn, will Aidan be okay?"
"Don't stress, Aidan will be fine. But keep an eye on him for a bit." Even though Aidan said he didn't care, Evelyn knew Sienna's sudden appearance would mess with his head. She herself took ages to chill when she found out Blake was her real dad.
Phoebe nodded. Even if Evelyn hadn't said anything, she would've done it. "Yeah, I'll look out for him."
The crowd broke up, not talking about the interruption anymore.
The birthday party rolled on. Aidan was back in the hall, chatting with guests like nothing happened.
After dinner, the guests started leaving. Even though Evelyn was worried about Aidan, she kept quiet. This was something Aidan had to deal with himself. All she could do was stand by him, no matter what he decided. Plus, with Phoebe around, she wasn't as worried.
