Chapter 481 I Won't Kill You
Evelyn nodded, showing no intention of making a move herself, which left the woman confused and unclear about what she really meant. The woman looked like she was about to strike, but the next second, she froze in place, unable to react.
"You..." The woman looked at Evelyn, speechless.
Evelyn simply shrugged nonchalantly and smiled at her, "I never said I'd handle you myself."
Indeed, the woman was now surrounded. Not only was defeating Evelyn out of the question, but even escaping seemed improbable.
"How shameless of you, this is not a fair fight," the woman fumed. She had suspected Evelyn was stalling for time, and it turned out she did have backup.
For Evelyn, these weren't just helpers; they had been protecting her ever since she returned from Colombia. She certainly didn't want her life to be taken away one day.
Fortunately, her decision was the right one.
"It doesn't matter if it's not a fair fight as long as I win," she said with a light smile, not feeling the slightest bit guilty about the woman's accusations.
The woman gritted her teeth, infuriated, but prepared to fight her way out, "Don't think you can beat me just because you have more people. I won't be easy to deal with."
Evelyn didn't respond, her gaze fixed on the woman. She didn't believe that surrounded by so many, the woman could escape.
"Really? What about with these people added?" Dermot emerged from the shadows, surprising not just the woman but Evelyn as well.
"Weren't you supposed to be at the company?" she asked, puzzled as to why Dermot was here.
My people noticed someone had been following you for the past few days, so I pretended to leave, giving certain individuals an opportunity.. I just didn't expect you to be prepared," he admitted, unaware of Evelyn's precautions.
Even if he had known, he would have shown up anyway because he was worried about her.
Evelyn felt warm but didn't say anything to Dermot at the moment. Instead, she turned her attention back to the woman, "You might as well surrender; there's no escaping."
"You won't know until you try, will you?” The woman coldly sneered and charged at Evelyn.
Dermot pulled her behind him, signaling with his eyes, and his people rushed toward the woman.
In an instant, about a dozen people were attacking the woman, who couldn't even touch Evelyn.
Of course, the woman's goal wasn't to kill Evelyn anymore but to find a way to escape.
Her combat skills were indeed impressive; her desperate attacks meant that Evelyn's people couldn't quite handle her.
Luckily, Dermot had brought some people too, and with their combined effort, they finally captured the woman.
Once the dust settled, Evelyn approached the woman, "Don't worry, I won't kill you."
"Hmph," the woman snorted, looking down on Evelyn with disdain, thinking of her as a coward for outnumbering her opponent, worthless!
Evelyn ignored her and looked at Dermot, "Can you help me find a place to keep her? I'll need her in a few days."
"Sure," Dermot nodded, as this was no problem for him.
After everything was settled, Dermot sent Evelyn back. This time he made sure to watch her enter and close the door behind her before he felt comfortable leaving.
He walked back to the place where the woman was being held, forcefully grabbed her chin, and demanded...
He was unaware of the woman's conversation with Evelyn and naturally wanted to inquire.
Unfortunately, the woman was tough and had only spoken to Evelyn earlier because she didn't care, thinking Evelyn was as good as dead. But now, irritated, she was unwilling to say anything.
