Chapter 132 He's a Victim

Dermot pitied Keith, their experiences were similar, but not quite the same.

Despite losing both his mother and father, Dermot still had a grandfather, someone strict but caring. This resulted in a different upbringing for him compared to Keith.

Evelyn discovered the connection between the Doyle family and the Kartland family. No wonder Keith always displayed such intense hatred whenever he mentioned the Doyle family.

But...

Could the Doyle family be blamed for this? Could Dermot be blamed?

he was a victim.

Evelyn fell into silence, unsure of whom to feel sorry for.

"Well, let's eat noodles," Dermot interjected, interrupting her thoughts. There was no trace of sorrow on his face, despite having lost his parents.

Perhaps for him, those painful memories were in the past.

Evelyn followed him back to the living room, where they each had a bowl of noodles in front of them, eating slowly.

"If you don't want to move, then forget about it," Evelyn spoke up after a while.

But Dermot couldn't help but laugh at her expression, a smile forming at the corner of his lips. He asked, "Are you trying to sympathize with me?"

"I'm not," Evelyn replied, but deep down, she understood that she felt a sense of unease because of Dermot's past.

"You don't have to pity me. To me, they are just strangers. I won't feel sad at all because of their departure," Dermot said.

Dermot didn't care about such irresponsible parents. In his past twenty or so years, the only person he cared about was Grandpa Doyle.

But now, Evelyn had become someone he cared about.

Evelyn defended, "I said no! Do you still need pity, Dermot?"

"Well, I don't," Dermot said.

The atmosphere fell into silence again, and no one spoke anymore. Evelyn quietly finished a bowl of noodles and realized that the noodles Dermot cooked tasted pretty good.

She felt a bit embarrassed and said, "The taste is very good, thank you."

"You're welcome," Dermot said and then asked, "Can you forgive my impulsiveness yesterday?"

"No," Evelyn rolled her eyes at him, stood up, and took the bowls and chopsticks to the kitchen.

Dermot felt helpless but didn't force the issue.

After finishing breakfast, he seemed to have no reason to stay here any longer, so he had to leave. "Grandpa misses you. Can you visit him at the Doyle Mansion sometime?"

"Alright, I will go," Evelyn said.

Dermot stood at the door, wanting to say something else, but Evelyn didn't give him the chance. She ruthlessly closed the door, leaving him outside.

With a bitter smile, Dermot took out his phone and called Todd, "Send someone to the apartment to pack things up."

"Okay, Mr. Doyle. Are you planning to attend as well?" Todd asked.

"Yeah, I'm moving back to Doyle Manor."

"Understood," Todd agreed without finding it strange. The CEO shouldn't live in that small apartment in the first place.

In the restaurant, tonight's gathering was organized by Evelyn, with only Aidan and Keith attending.

"Evelyn, it seems you've considered my proposal?" Keith said with a smile, in good spirits.

If she hadn't considered his proposal, she wouldn't have brought Aidan here to meet him.

Evelyn smiled, her gaze shifting to Aidan. He caught her eye and said, "Evelyn told me about Mr. Kartland's proposal. it's feasible, and I believe Mr. Kartland can be a great partner for us."

"Of course," Keith replied.

"Today, we need to discuss the distribution of the Barns family's interests. it's better to address any unpleasant matters upfront to avoid any conflicts later."

Aidan was a qualified businessman, and pursuing interests was always his goal.

Keith wasn't upset by her words. "That's only natural."

Then, the two began discussions about the businesses under the Barns family. Evelyn didn't understand the specific details and didn't say much. Today, she was just playing the role of a mediator.
