Chapter 977: I'll Take Your Kind Words
Golombia Central Park was quiet and empty when Evelyn and Dermot arrived, snow still blanketing the ground.
As they walked further, they saw a group of people setting up with flowers and balloons.
"You're here," Keith said, appearing behind them with a faint smile.
Evelyn noticed Keith was unusually dressed in a black suit and tie, looking more spirited.
"Are you sure about this? What if Sarah rejects you again?" Evelyn asked, worried since Sarah had turned Keith down several times before.
Keith looked serious. "I have to try, right?"
"Let her decide with the first snowfall of winter," Keith said, gazing at the stage being set up.
Evelyn was surprised when she found out Keith planned to confess to Sarah today. She hoped Sarah would agree, thinking Keith seemed decent now, unlike Nolan.
But she had her concerns. "Are you really sure? Sarah's been through a lot. If she agrees, it means she's willing to trust again, but..."
"If you hurt her, she might lose faith in men forever," Evelyn warned.
"Don't worry. I may seem flaky, but this is sincere. I know what I want," Keith replied. Despite his playboy image, he had never liked anyone before Sarah. Even his interest in Evelyn was just to spite Dermot.
Evelyn felt a bit more at ease. "I'll trust you this once. If you hurt her, I won't let you off."
"That day will never come," Keith assured. "So, do you think she'll say yes?"
Evelyn thought for a moment. "Maybe. I haven't talked to Sarah lately, but you did save her, and your relationship seems to have progressed."
"Thanks for the good wishes," Keith smiled, no longer the frivolous person he once was.
"There's a rest house over there with some food. It's cold; you should warm up," Keith pointed to a small house nearby.
Evelyn nodded. It was freezing, and they couldn't help much outside.
"Alright," she said, and she and Dermot headed to the small house.
Before they reached the door, Keith called out, "Hey, Evelyn, could you call Sarah in half an hour and ask her to come over?"
"Sure," Evelyn agreed.
