Chapter 894 Thanks to You

Evelyn's call hadn't even connected before Joshua's car pulled up at the villa entrance.

Seeing this, Evelyn understood everything.

She stopped dialing, put her phone away, and told Dermot, "Looks like this isn't just a family dinner. Let's go together."

"Alright," Dermot smirked, glancing at Joshua with a hint of mockery.

Dermot had been suspicious when Aidan suddenly called Evelyn over. Now, seeing Joshua at the villa, he figured it had something to do with him.

Joshua, stepping out of the car, looked puzzled. "Dermot, what are you doing here?"

"Evey invited me for dinner. Got a problem with that?" Dermot raised an eyebrow, clearly provoking.

Joshua frowned and looked at Evelyn. "Evelyn, you're bringing Dermot? This is a family dinner. What's he doing here?"

"Dermot helped me out today, so I invited him to dinner to thank him," Evelyn replied, not sounding too happy.

She wasn't sure if this was Aidan's idea or if Joshua was involved, but she didn't like it.

She had planned a nice dinner with Aidan and Niall, but Joshua's presence made her uncomfortable.

She thought, 'Just because I confessed to Joshua as a kid, does that mean I have to keep liking him? Why is everyone so hung up on that?'

Joshua sensed Evelyn's displeasure. He pressed his lips together and said nothing.

The three of them walked into the villa.

Aidan was surprised to see Dermot, as he hadn't invited him.

Evelyn spoke up, "I invited Dermot. I was going to invite him for dinner anyway, and since you called, I thought I'd bring him along."

Aidan smiled awkwardly. He could tell Evelyn was in a bad mood. With a bit of thought, he understood why. It was his fault.

"It's fine. There are quite a few people here today anyway," Aidan said, hinting that he considered Dermot an outsider.

Evelyn frowned, sensing something in Aidan's words. "Others?"

"Yes, you'll see soon." More importantly, there was someone who would shock Evelyn.

Evelyn didn't ask further. She already felt this meal would be unpleasant.

During dinner, Evelyn offered to help in the kitchen. Dermot and Joshua wanted to follow, but Aidan asked them to stay in the living room, as they were guests.

In the living room, Dermot and Joshua sat far apart, clearly not wanting to interact.

"Two of your men are dead," Dermot said after a while, sipping coffee. Though he didn't look at Joshua, Joshua knew he was talking to him.

Joshua didn't react much, saying calmly, "Alright."

Death was a release for them. Otherwise, the members of the Doyle family would never let them go easily.

Dermot had used the Martin family's involvement to blame the deaths on them, knowing Randy wouldn't suspect anything.

"You suffered quite a loss this time, huh?" Dermot said, sounding mocking but he really wasn't. He was just asking.

Joshua, however, didn't see it that way. He sneered. "Thanks to you, Mr. Doyle."
