Chapter 883 Frame Him?

Margaret was stunned. Sure, even if it were James, Randy wouldn't harm his son. He might even help cover it up.

After thinking it over, Margaret reached a conclusion.

The person who killed Gerald couldn't be James. And even if it were, Randy from the Doyle family would make sure it wasn't.

So, if it wasn't James, it had to be Dermot.

"Mom, could Dermot have done it?" Margaret asked.

Abigail was surprised and then shook her head. "No way, he doesn't have the capability. Plus, I heard Dermot almost died that day."

"What?" Margaret was shocked again. After being unable to involve herself in family matters, she had lost many sources of information. She didn't know anything about such an important event.

Abigail didn't hold back since Margaret was so curious. "Yeah, Otis invited him to the horse ranch opening that day, and he accidentally fell off a cliff and almost died."

Abigail continued, "Your father thinks it wasn't an accident, that Otis and Gerald meant to kill Dermot."

Margaret sneered and thought, 'Is there even a need to guess? It is definitely like that.'

Abigail added, "And everyone there heard gunshots from the mountains. Many think Otis arranged for someone to kill Dermot, but Dermot got lucky."

The more Abigail talked, the more scared she got.

She told Margaret, "Your father analyzed it last night and said breaking up with Dermot was the right call. Given the situation, Randy won't let him take over the Doyle family. Even if he's capable, Randy won't let him live long enough to get the chance."

As head of the Martin family, Steven knew that once it came to gunfire, it wasn't something subordinates could do.

Randy was still in charge of the Doyle family, so without his consent, Otis couldn't have someone shoot Dermot. This led to one conclusion: Randy also wanted Dermot dead.

Steven understood this well, so he decided to stop cooperating with Dermot. He couldn't afford to be implicated.

Margaret quickly figured it out but had another thought. "Mom, since we've already given up on Dermot, why not frame him?"

Abigail frowned. "Frame him? Didn't you like him?"

"I used to, but when he abandoned me, all that affection turned to ashes. Besides, given the situation, even if we do nothing, Randy won't let him off," Margaret said.

Abigail still frowned. "Your father won't agree. You know he never does anything without benefit."

Killing Dermot had no benefit for the Martin family right now.

"If Dermot dies, the only person to inherit the Doyle family would be James. James has a son named Jeffery. I'll find a way to make him like me. By then, we'll have a mutually beneficial relationship with James. Killing Dermot would be a gift to James. Just tell my father the truth; he'll definitely agree," Margaret continued.

She knew her father had always wanted to establish a connection with the Doyle family, which was why he was willing to help Dermot before.

But now that Dermot was no longer favored by Randy, it was evident that he had no chance and was not the best choice for the Martin family to place their hopes on. So, the Martin family had to change targets.

However, changing targets wasn't easy. The Martin family had to show some sincerity.

Dermot's death would be the Martin family's gift.
