Chapter 751 What If I Don't Want To
"Evelyn is still in a coma, isn't she? We can have someone to kill her," Walter thought that an unconscious Evelyn wasn't much of a threat, but the problem was how to get close to her.
Eugene nodded, "Got it, I'll find the solution."
That night, it wasn't just the Roberts family who couldn't sleep well. Lucia felt a mix of emotions when she learned that Evelyn was in trouble but hadn't died; she was somewhat disappointed.
She heard about Evelyn's accident very late and had fervently hoped Evelyn was dead as she hated Evelyn extremely.
But Evelyn didn't die and was saved, which made her feel terrible.
Especially when Wade rushed to the hospital as soon as he heard about Evelyn's accident, even a fool would know how much Wade cared about Evelyn.
Despite everything that had happened, Lucia should have realized long ago that Wade had no feelings for her. She knew she shouldn't have any hope for Wade, but it still hurt.
As tears uncontrollably streamed down Lucia's face, she heard footsteps at the door. It was Wade who walked in.
"Is Evelyn okay?" Despite her hatred for Evelyn, she didn't dare show it in front of Wade.
Wade didn't answer, his face stern as he walked to the sofa.
Upon seeing this, Lucia felt anxious, thinking, 'Could Evelyn be dead? Otherwise, Wade wouldn't react this way.'
She couldn't help but ask again, "Mr. Allen, is Evelyn okay?"
Wade's gaze turned to her, and to Lucia's shock, he got up and rushed towards her, grabbing her by the neck without mercy.
"You really hope something happens to her, don't you?" Wade's voice was so cold that it made Lucia shiver.
"I don't," she struggled to speak, and her face turned red.
Unfortunately, Wade felt no pity for her and said with disgust. "Don't? Wasn't it the Roberts family who did this? You must have played a big part in it."
This accusation was truly unfair to Lucia. Dora hadn't told her about this, and she had long lost contact with the Roberts family.
What hurt Lucia even more was Wade's use of "you Roberts family."
She thought, 'In his mind, have I already become one of the Roberts family?
'But I'm still part of the Kyte family.'
Lucia's tears fell in large drops onto Wade's hand.
Wade seemed to come to his senses, looking at Lucia's red face from lack of air, and finally let her go.
Lucia greedily gasped for air, the feeling of near-death truly terrifying her.
After a while, Lucia recovered and looked at Wade, "You still like Evelyn?"
"Shut up!" Wade snorted coldly, "Contact Dora and get information from her. I need to know who was involved in it."
He wanted to avenge Evelyn and prevent such things from happening again.
"What if I don't want to?" Lucia looked at Wade through gritted teeth.
Lucia didn't know where he got the confidence to let her betray Dora.
Wade didn't care. He squatted down to look her in the eye and said, "If you don't, I'll just send you back to the Kyte family and call off the engagement. I wonder if the Kyte family will still admit you then?"
Lucia's face turned pale instantly as she heard the mention of calling off the engagement.
She wasn't afraid of Wade, but if the engagement was called off, she would have nowhere to go.
In the end, Lucia lowered her head. At this point, she had no other choice, so she said, "Fine, I'll call her."
