Chapter 725 Asking for Trouble
At this moment, Blake got a lot ongoing. The reason he had found a martial arts teacher for Evelyn in the first place was to ensure she wouldn't be bullied. But he never expected that someone would come to challenge her now.
"From what you're saying, you're definitely going to accept this challenge, right?" Blake asked with a frown, clearly worried.
Evelyn nodded. "Of course, if I don't go, wouldn't that be embarrassing for Mr. Melville?"
"What if you get hurt?"
"Don't worry, I'll protect myself. Besides, these challenges usually stop short of causing serious harm." Of course, that only meant they wouldn't be life-threatening. Whether it would result in serious or minor injuries depended on the situation. No one could predict exactly what would happen until then.
Evelyn had clearly made up her mind, and Blake knew he could never stop her. "I can't change your decision. Just take care of yourself."
"Yes, I will," Evelyn smiled.
After that, they didn't talk about it anymore. A servant brought up dinner, and they ate in silence.
Perhaps because of the earlier conversation, both were lost in their own thoughts and didn't speak.
Evelyn felt the atmosphere was a bit off, so she took the initiative to ask, "Didn't Dora come to see you?"
"She did," Blake replied. "She asked me to stop going after the Roberts family and said I was just causing trouble for myself."
He recalled the scene of Dora coming to his office and found it ridiculous.
Causing trouble for himself?
It was the Roberts family that was about to disappear.
"Yes, but we do need to be wary of the Roberts family teaming up with other families," Evelyn expressed her concern.
The Kyte family and the Allen family joining forces to take down the Roberts family was already a tough task. If other families got involved, all their plans could be disrupted.
Blake understood this as well, so he nodded. "Don't worry, since we dared to make this plan in the first place, we've already considered such scenarios and are prepared."
"That's good." Since Blake said so, Evelyn stopped worrying. She believed that with Blake and Wade's capabilities, she didn't need to fret.
Dora didn't come back even after they finished dinner, which was a rare occurrence.
At the Roberts Manor, the atmosphere was extremely tense.
Walter, with a cold expression, glanced at Dora not far away. "It's a big matter, and didn't you notice anything? Dora, are you really helping the Roberts family?"
"Walter, what do you mean by that? Do you think I deliberately didn't tell you?" She was a bit upset. If that were the case, she wouldn't be here today.
Walter didn't want to fall out with her at this moment. "That's not what I meant. I think Blake went too far by deliberately hiding it from you. This clearly shows he doesn't consider you one of his own."
He had hit a nerve with Dora. When she first found out about this, her initial reaction wasn't that the Roberts family was in trouble, but that Blake had hidden it from her.
Because of this, she had to protect the Roberts family, otherwise, she wouldn't have a good consequence either.
"Walter, talking about this now is pointless. We need to find a way to get through this crisis," Dora said.
Walter nodded, feeling a sharp pain in his forehead. "What can we do? We can't even handle the Kyte family alone, let alone with the Allen family involved."
"Walter, you can't lose hope." She was alarmed. If he kept this attitude, the Roberts family might really have no way to save themselves.
