Chapter 908 Easy to Invite, Hard to Send Away

Evelyn didn't stay long in Natalie's hospital room. Chatting with Natalie felt like a waste of time to her.

She didn't care who had beaten Natalie up; it had nothing to do with her, and she didn't want to get involved.

When Dermot visited, she brought it up just to see his reaction.

But Dermot stayed calm like Natalie was a stranger to him.

Feeling bored, Evelyn asked, "You used to be close to her. Don't you care at all?"

Dermot sighed, smiling helplessly. "Evelyn, sometimes I don't know what to do with you."

Evelyn was confused until Dermot added, "Are you trying to see if I care about Natalie? Do you think I do?"

Evelyn pouted, "I was just making conversation. If you don't like it, just ignore what I said."

"It's not that I don't like it; I just think you underestimate my feelings for you." He never liked Natalie. Even if she died, he wouldn't have any reaction.

Evelyn responded with an "oh," not knowing what else to say.

She thought, 'Wasn't he the one who always said Natalie was his benefactor? If it were not for that, I wouldn't have brought it up.'

Seeing she was upset, Dermot quickly added, "I'm not blaming you. I just think you shouldn't use her to test me. I never liked her."

He always saw his relationship with Natalie as just friendship. After everything, they weren't even friends anymore.

For instance, he didn't even know Natalie was in Golombia, and she hadn't come to see him. They both understood what their current relationship looked like now.

"Oh, so who have you liked?" Evelyn asked, suddenly curious.

Dermot was caught off guard. "I like you."

"Hey, stop that. I'm asking who else you've liked besides me," Evelyn pressed.

Dermot felt cornered and quickly raised his hands in surrender. "No one. I've only ever liked you."

"Oh, really?" She didn't quite believe him.

She thought of Ava, who was rumored to be someone Dermot once liked. Natalie even said she was Ava's replacement.

Though Dermot had explained and she believed him, she still felt Ava was different to Dermot.

However, she didn't ask, not wanting to say anything to spoil the mood.

Since Dermot said there was no one else, she'd believe him this time.

"You've been visiting me every day. Aren't you worried Randy will notice?" Evelyn smiled. The Doyle family's situation was complicated now.

But from other prospectives, it seemed not the truth. At least, the Doyle family had one enemy now: Dermot.

They were united against an external threat, and all internal conflicts had stopped.

Sometimes Evelyn thought, if Randy had thought this way earlier, Dermot wouldn't have appeared, and things wouldn't be like this.

Now, they had brought Dermot from Moris City, and had to figure out how to send him away.

But Dermot clearly wasn't leaving easily.
