Chapter 1369 Extra: Aidan and Phoebe (44)

Phoebe felt she had made a mistake; she wasn't a match for so many people. Perhaps it was her luck, at that moment she saw Evelyn walking over and called out to her.

Evelyn heard but had no intention of helping her. Phoebe felt puzzled.

Arlene also saw Evelyn and thought she would come to help Phoebe, which made her a bit worried since she couldn't afford to offend the Kyte family either.

However, Evelyn didn't come over; she even acted like she didn't know Phoebe and walked away, which made Arlene laugh heartily.

"Did you really think Evelyn would be friends with her? Remember who you are; do you even deserve it?" Arlene mocked as she walked up to Phoebe.

Arlene reached out and grabbed Phoebe by the collar, sneering, "How does it feel to have no one to help you? Is it desperate?"

Phoebe looked at her without saying a word.

Not far away, Evelyn had been secretly watching the situation with Phoebe. It was already a critical moment; if no one helped soon, she wouldn't be able to hold back.

"Aren't you going to help?" Dermot noticed Evelyn's gaze and looked over, somewhat surprised. Logically, she wouldn't just sit by and do nothing.

Evelyn chuckled and raised an eyebrow at Dermot. "Someone's already gone over. This kind of damsel-in-distress moment should be left to those who need it."

She could go, but such an opportunity should be left to someone more suitable. Aidan had already gone over.

Just as Arlene was about to slap Phoebe, Aidan arrived in time. He grabbed Arlene's wrist and threw her aside. "What are you doing?"

Aidan's sudden appearance scared everyone. While he focused his hostility on Arlene, the others quickly slipped away; they didn't dare to confront Aidan.

Arlene could see the coldness in Aidan's eyes and knew he had no feelings for her, which hurt her a bit.

Unfortunately, Aidan didn't care if she was hurt. He gave her a cold glance and then walked over to Phoebe, his expression changing to one of concern. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." Phoebe shook her head, grateful that Aidan had arrived in time.

"You should have notified me immediately." If he had been any later, nobody knew what could have happened.

Phoebe understood and saw Evelyn still smiling at her from a distance. She knew that even if Aidan hadn't shown up, Evelyn would have come over. Of course, she wouldn't say that out loud. Leaning towards Aidan in fear, she said, "I didn't expect her to do that."

Seeing her scared, Aidan felt even more protective and pulled her into his arms. He then looked coldly at Arlene. "Is Golombia now run by the Hensley family?"

"She provoked me first!" Arlene was indignant, especially seeing Phoebe acting weak next to Aidan. She wanted to tear apart Phoebe's facade.

Aidan didn't care what she said and looked at her coldly. "You'd better apologize now."

"Apologize? I'm not the one at fault; why should I apologize?" She was already indignant, and now Aidan was asking her to apologize to Phoebe. That was impossible.

Hearing her refusal to apologize, Aidan didn't care much. If she didn't apologize, it would give him a perfect excuse to act against the Hensley family.

Holding Phoebe, he turned to leave but said as he walked away, "The Hensley family? Fine, I'll make you face the consequences."
