Chapter 216 He Is A devil
"She likes you, and you're aware of that," Evelyn thought that Phoebe must have expressed her feelings to Aidan before, and he rejected her, which was why she came to her.
Aidan snorted, "Likes me? Who knows if this is a scheme concocted by the Irvine family? They would do anything to achieve their goals."
Is the Irvine family really that bad?
Evelyn hadn't figured it out yet when Dermot walked over, saying, "Mr. Brooks, that's not true. In the business world, everyone would do whatever it takes to achieve their goals. That includes Mr. Brooks as well."
Beside him stood Phoebe, who had just left. Her eyes were red, obviously having heard Aidan's words.
"I forgot Mr. Doyle has a good relationship with the Irvine family, especially with Craig. They are good friends, so it's no wonder you would defend them," Aidan mocked, showing disdain not only for the Irvine family but also for Dermot, who had a good relationship with them.
Dermot didn't deny it but said directly, "Indeed, I have a good relationship with Craig. So what? Mr. Brooks, do you have a problem with that?"
"What problem could I possibly have?”
Aidan sneered, "I wonder if Mr. Doyle has ever heard the saying, 'He who lies down with dogs gets up with fleas.' Being around someone like Craig for too long, I'm afraid Mr. Doyle might end up becoming just like him."
"Aidan, how dare you say that about my brother? What has he done?" Phoebe couldn't stand it. In the Irvine family, she had a better relationship with her brother Craig, so she naturally couldn't tolerate anyone defaming him.
Aidan glanced at her. "What has he done? You should ask what he hasn't done."
"Do you know how Craig took over the Irvine family? It's all because of his brutal tactics. What's the difference between him and a devil? And you ask me what he has done?"
Phoebe didn't have much understanding of the family business, nor did she know how Craig took control of the Irvine family. She simply thought he was impressive.
But now, hearing what Aidan said, she couldn't help but feel a bit shaken.
One is her brother, and the other is someone she likes. She couldn't decide who to believe for a moment.
Dermot looked at Aidan before saying to Phoebe, "Even if your brother's hands are stained with blood, it's the blood of the damned. He hasn't done anything wrong."
As a long-time friend of Craig's, Dermot knew him well and was also concerned about him.
In the Irvine family, perhaps only Phoebe truly saw him as a brother. If even Phoebe stood on the side of others and accused him, Dermot didn't know if Craig would go mad.
"Well, I understand." Phoebe nodded. She wouldn't truly distrust her brother just because of a few words from Aidan.
Aidan and Evelyn heard every word of their conversation. Evelyn was only curious about what kind of person Craig was, while Aidan was full of disdain. No matter how they defended Craig, he still saw him as a devil.
"Evelyn, let's go," Aidan said, about to pull Evelyn away.
However, Phoebe stepped forward to stop them, mainly blocking Aidan. "I didn't know you had such strong opinions about the Irvine family before. I thought you just simply didn't like me. Now I know, so I won't give up."
"I will prove to you that the Irvine family is not as bad as you think, at least not everyone is like that."
