Chapter 1191: You're Quite Ruthless

Watching her leave, Oscar just smirked, not even trying to hide how much he couldn't stand Bella. Everyone knew it since the day she first showed up at the house.

"What’s your game here?" Nathaniel stared him down, trying to figure him out.

Only now did he realize the son he’d always ignored had turned into someone he couldn’t read anymore.

Oscar plopped down on the couch, all casual-like, and said, "What can I do? Just wanna make her feel some pain, that’s all."

"Is it fun?" Nathaniel never bothered explaining why he divorced Oscar’s mom. Everyone knew the reason, but he let Oscar aim all his anger at Bella.

Oscar laughed again, "Yeah, it’s a blast."

"Do what you want." Nathaniel didn’t care what Oscar planned for Evelyn. To him, Evelyn was already as good as dead.

"Evelyn’s no pushover. Watch yourself, or you might get burned," Nathaniel warned.

Oscar squinted, thinking it wasn’t clear who’d end up hurt.

"Don’t worry, I’m not like you, losing my head over a woman," he shot back, calling out Nathaniel’s hypocrisy. Then he got up and strolled out of the mansion.

He came today just to confirm something, and now he had his answer.

Evelyn soon got a call from Oscar; he was in.

Evelyn was stoked. Her plan was simple: first, get Bella out of Nathaniel’s mansion, and for that, she needed Oscar’s help.

"Evelyn, you’re using me to save Bella, right? Once I get her out, will you really help me take down Nathaniel?" He wasn’t dumb. Bella was his biggest card. Even if she wasn’t in his hands, she was still leverage against Evelyn as long as she was with Nathaniel.

But once Evelyn took Bella away, no matter what she promised now, everything would be up in the air.

Evelyn got his worries and said, "They’ve got a marriage certificate. Even if I take Bella away, their marriage is still legit. Nathaniel can get Bella back anytime. You know that’s not what I want."

"Oh, really? So you’ve got a way to make Nathaniel agree to a divorce?" Oscar chuckled, thinking it was a joke.

"I don’t have a way, but sometimes a divorce doesn’t need his say-so," Evelyn replied coolly.

Oscar was momentarily stunned, then it hit him.

Ending a marriage didn’t always mean divorce; it could also mean widowhood.

For Bella to have a peaceful life, Nathaniel had to be out of the picture for good. There seemed to be only one solution.

"You’re pretty ruthless," Oscar said.

Evelyn smiled and quickly denied, "Don’t get it twisted. I’m not into illegal stuff."

"I plan to lure Nathaniel to Golombia and get him locked up," she revealed. Evelyn didn’t mind sharing her plan; Oscar had no other options now—they were already tied by mutual interests.

Seabrook City was the Flores family’s turf, making it nearly impossible to imprison Nathaniel there.

But Golombia was different. That was her playground, beyond the Flores family’s reach. With the right evidence of Nathaniel’s crimes, she could make sure he ended up behind bars.
