Chapter 121 Do you have any objections to this?

"Although that's the case, I still appreciate you saving him," the young man said with a hint of gratefulness.

The man thanked once again and said, "My name is Greg Hamilton, and the old man inside is my father."

"Evelyn." She had a good impression of the other person, and the surgery was very successful. She herself felt very relaxed.

"Ms. Kyte, I wonder if you could please tell me more about my father's condition," Greg hesitantly asked.

Evelyn nodded and gestured for him to follow her. "Sure, let's go to my office."

As a doctor, she had an obligation to explain the patient's current condition to the family members.

The two walked towards the office, completely ignoring Dermot who was standing by the side.

After a while, Evelyn noticed that something was off.

Where was Dermot?

She turned around to look, but he was nowhere to be seen.

When did he leave? How did she not notice?

"Ms. Kyte?" Greg saw her stop and looked confused, wondering what she was looking at.

Evelyn snapped back and shook her head. "Nothing Let's go."

Outside the hospital, Dermot opened the car door and got in. "Return to Doyal Mansion," he said.

"Mr. Doyle, how is Mr. Hamilton? Was the rescue successful?" Todd started the car and instinctively asked.

Dermot made a sound of confirmation, clearly not in a good mood.

As his assistant, Todd naturally sensed this and associated it with Evelyn, who had performed the surgery on Mr. Hamilton. He had reason to suspect that the reason his boss was in a bad mood had something to do with Evelyn.

A hint of conflict flashed in his eyes, but he ultimately decided to speak up. "Mr. Doyle, do you...really like Ms. Kyte?"

It wasn't intentional to ask this question. He just felt that the situation was too ridiculous, making it hard to believe.

Dermot didn't answer the question. Instead, he looked at Todd and said, "What? Do you have a problem with it too?"

"No, no, no," Todd quickly shook his head, feeling terrified. "It's just that you were married to Ms. Kyte for two years and didn't like her, and now you've only recently divorced..."

He didn't continue with the rest of his words, not because he didn't want to, but because he didn't dare to. He had already sensed the coldness emanating from his boss.

"I haven't seen her in these two years, so it's normal for me to not know her. But what about you, as my assistant? How could you not recognize her?" Dermot said coldly.

If Todd had recognized Evelyn from the beginning, perhaps there would have been less misunderstanding between him and Evelyn.

Todd felt mentally exhausted. He had mentioned before that he wanted to go and see what Evelyn was lacking at Doyle Manor, but Dermot had rejected the idea, saying it was unnecessary, so he didn't have a chance to meet Evelyn.

Of course, these thoughts could only be vented internally. He didn't dare to say them out loud.

"It's my fault for not handling things properly," Todd said helplessly, knowing that his boss was angry and not paying much attention.

Dermot doesn't really blame Todd either, after all, it was his fault for not involving Todd in Evelyn's matters in the first place. Back then, he truly didn't prioritize Evelyn as his wife. Who could have predicted this outcome?

After a moment of silence, Dermot still didn't speak up, but Todd couldn't hold back, "Mr. Doyle, if you really like Ms. Kyte, you need to understand her current attitude towards you."

"What do you mean?" Dermot frowned.

"If any woman were neglected by you for two years and you suddenly say you like her now, no one would accept it. So, I believe it's understandable that Ms. Kyte has a negative attitude towards you." He tried to console Dermot.

Dermot furrowed and listened as Todd continued, "To put it simply, in her eyes, you are not only a stranger but also a stranger who wasted two years of her youth."
