Chapter 1382 Extra: Aidan and Phoebe (57)
A knock on the door came, and Aidan quickly turned off his phone.
Phoebe pushed the door open and came in. Seeing Aidan sitting at the desk, she felt a bit distressed. "Still busy? Is the Lowe family deliberately making things difficult for you, giving you so much work?"
Recently, Aidan had been leaving early and coming home late, even busier than when he was at the Brooks Group.
"No, I'm fine." He did have something on his mind, but he couldn't tell Phoebe. Telling her would only make her worry.
Just then, his phone chimed with a new message. Aidan glanced at it and felt a surge of uncontrollable anger.
It was a message from Sienna. She said that since Aidan had made a decision, he needed to take action, at least by having Phoebe move out of his villa.
Aidan was furious. He felt that Sienna had no right to interfere in his affairs. But in the end, he held back. He had to deal with the Lowe family; otherwise, he and Phoebe would never have a peaceful life.
Since he had already made up his mind, he had a plan in place, but it meant Phoebe would have to endure some hardship for a while.
In the brief silence, although Aidan didn't speak, Phoebe could still sense his inner turmoil. "Is something wrong?" She couldn't help but ask again.
Aidan looked up at her. They stared at each other for a while before he finally spoke, " This afternoon, Evelyn told me she wanted you to bring Theodore over to play for a few days. She wants to get a feel for taking care of a child."
"Is she planning to have a baby with Dermot?" Phoebe asked.
"Maybe. Perhaps Evelyn is unsure if she likes kids, so she wants you to bring Theodore over," Aidan said, his face calm, showing no signs of lying.
Phoebe had a good relationship with Evelyn now, so she had no reason to refuse such a request. Without thinking, she agreed, "Okay."
After agreeing, she felt a bit sad. "So, I have to leave here for a while."
"It's okay. You'll be back in a while." Aidan smiled, feeling a bit bitter inside. If he were more capable and could deal with the Lowe family head-on, he wouldn't have to resort to such methods.
"Yeah, it's not far anyway. If you miss Theodore, you can come over and see him." She didn't know how long Evelyn wanted her to stay, but she thought it should only be a few days.
Seeing that Phoebe had no suspicions, Aidan felt relieved but also a bit sad. If she found out he had lied to her, she would probably be very upset.
Now, he had no other choice. If he didn't send Phoebe away, Sienna wouldn't believe him, and the Lowe family would focus on Phoebe, possibly even harming her.
He really didn't want anything to happen to Phoebe, so sending her to Evelyn's was actually safer. After making the decision, he felt less troubled. Everything was for a better future.
"Are you hungry?" Aidan looked up and asked Phoebe.
"I'm fine. Are you hungry?" She hadn't brought Aidan food in the past two days, not because she didn't want to, but because he wouldn't let her, saying he didn't want her to get tired. So, the servants had been bringing his meals.
Usually, after dinner, Aidan wouldn't eat anything else when he got home. He stood up and patted her head. "I'm a bit hungry, so can you eat a little with me?"
Phoebe blushed and softly replied, "Okay."
