Chapter 328 It Seems Like I Came at the Wrong Time
"The company has staff dormitories. You can move in tomorrow so that you won't be late," Evelyn said. This was her ultimate goal.
Ever since Emily moved in, she didn't feel like going home anymore.
Dermot had never cooked once, and they had been eating out these days.
It's fine for a short time, but they couldn't do this for a long time, right?
Upon hearing this, Emily immediately refused, "Dormitory? No way!"
Although Barberts Apartment wasn't a luxurious mansion, it was still considered an upscale community. She had already gotten used to it and didn't want to live in a dormitory.
Moreover, if she really moved into the dormitory, wouldn't it be even harder to see Dermot?
If she couldn't even see him, what chance did she have?
"No? Then pack up and return to Tara Village tomorrow," Evelyn didn't waste any more words with her and left with this statement, ignoring Emily behind her.
"Evelyn!" Emily stomped her foot in frustration, but Evelyn didn't even glance back at her.
As Evelyn closed the door to her room, she sighed lightly and no longer paid attention to Emily outside.
The reason why she gave Emily another chance was simply because she didn't want her uncle to continue worrying about her.
If Emily didn't cherish it, then it was her own fault.
In her opinion, even if they sent Emily back, her uncle wouldn't blame her. After all, they all knew what kind of person Emily was.
In the living room, Emily stood in place for a long time, her eyes slightly red, feeling very aggrieved.
Gritting her teeth, she turned around and opened the door to leave.
But she wasn't leaving, she knocked on Dermot's door.
Not long after, Dermot opened the door, thinking it was Evelyn, but he didn't expect it to be Emily. His expression immediately darkened.
"Aidan, Evelyn wants to send me back. Can you speak up for me?" Tears welled up in her eyes, making her look pitiful.
Other men might be interested in a woman who literally came to their door, but Dermot felt nothing but disgust.
Seeing Dermot's silence, Emily continued, "Aidan, ever since Evelyn divorced, her temper hasn't been good. I can understand her to some extent because anyone would feel upset in her situation. But, she shouldn't take it out on me, right? You don't know how painful it is for me to be scolded by her every day when I come back from work. Aidan, can you help me persuade her?"
In her words, Evelyn became an unreasonable woman after the divorce, and she portrayed herself as the one being bullied.
If Dermot hadn't known Evelyn for a long time and understood what kind of person she was, he might have been deceived by Emily's appearance.
"Are you done speaking?" the man spoke, his voice cold.
Emily's back stiffened, she looked up and saw Dermot's icy gaze, feeling a bit scared.
"Aidan..."
Dermot glanced at her, his tone chillingly cold, "I am not interested in getting involved with your problems."
"Have I not warned you that if you speak ill of Evelyn again, I will cut off your tongue? It seems like you haven't taken it to heart."
"I... " Emily became afraid.
Looking at the man who was so close, Emily thought of what her mother had said during their phone conversation earlier in the day. She gritted her teeth and hugged Dermot tightly.
"Aidan, I actually really like you." She clung to him and rubbed against his body. "I'm willing to give you everything, Aidan. Take me!"
At that moment, Dermot felt goosebumps all over his body and tried to resist the urge to push Emily away in disgust.
However, he seemed to underestimate Emily's strength. She held onto him tightly and refused to let go.
Just as Dermot was about to clench his fists to forcefully pry her off, the door across the room opened and Evelyn appeared at the doorway.
She looked at the two hugging each other with a smirk on her face. "Oh, it seems like I'm not interrupting at the right time."
