Chapter 80 Let's Check the Surveillance

"Since you don't want to accept the apology, why bother tormenting yourself?" Dermot spoke, his tone gentle.

Evelyn chuckled, "Just like you said, the Barns family is not the Ackers family. I can't do anything about it for the time being, and what else can I do if I don't accept the apology?"

"I can help you," he said.

Evelyn looked at him as if he were a monster and took two steps back. "After all, you and she grew up together. Is it okay for you to turn your back on her like this?"

"We're just friends," Dermot said seriously. "Not childhood sweethearts."

However, Evelyn didn't care. "There's no need, Mr. Doyle. As I've said, we're not acquainted."

"Evelyn..."

"Dermot!" Natalie supported Kenny as they came out of the restroom, her face filled with concern. "Kenny was beaten."

Kenny, at this moment, had a swollen nose and a bruised face, looking like a pig's head. Evelyn covered her mouth and almost burst out laughing.

Kenny slowly regained consciousness and, the next second, pointed at Evelyn, angrily shouting, "It's you! You're the one who attacked me from behind, right?"

"Mr. Barns, I have no idea what you're talking about." Evelyn innocently blinked her eyes.

Natalie looked at Evelyn, suspecting that she was behind it, as she was the only one here who held a grudge against Kenny and could have secretly attacked him.

"Don't pretend, there's no one else but you!" Kenny said as he tried to rush over and hit her.

Of course, Dermot didn't give him the chance to touch Evelyn, blocking him and saying, "Without evidence, are you saying it's her just because you say so? Kenny, if you're not thinking twice about it, I don't mind helping you out."

Kenny wasn't afraid of Evelyn, but he was afraid of Dermot. He hid behind Natalie, looking at Evelyn with resentment.

Natalie calmly said, "Let's check the surveillance. No matter who it is, the footage from the surveillance cameras can't be faked."

"No..."

"Do as you please," Evelyn interrupted Dermot, appearing indifferent, as if she hadn't done anything wrong and had nothing to fear.

Dermot didn't say anything else. He knew that if Evelyn dared to speak like this, she must have been confident that she wouldn't be found out.

He realized that he didn't understand this woman at all.

The group found the store manager and requested to check the surveillance footage.

The store manager didn't dare refuse, as both Natalie and Dermot were formidable individuals.

The surveillance footage was quickly retrieved and fast-forwarded to the moment when Kenny entered the restroom.

During only a few people widened their eyes, waiting to see who would make a move.

In the meantime, Evelyn appeared. Just as Kenny was about to accuse her, he saw Evelyn enter the women's restroom. And then, until Dermot and the others arrived, no one entered the men's restroom.

"This is impossible!" Kenny shouted. No one went in. Could it be that he did it?

Evelyn smiled at him. "The surveillance is right in front of us, Mr. Barns, yet you still want to blame me. Isn't that inappropriate?"

As she spoke, her gaze shifted towards Natalie.

Natalie took a deep breath and then regained her composure. "Ms. Kyte, please don't mind. My brother may not be thinking after being hit, which is why he lashed out randomly."

"If his mind is not well, he should hurry and see a doctor, so as not to delay his condition," Evelyn said with a smile.

"Big sis!" Kenny wanted to speak, but he was silenced by a cold glare from Natalie.

Natalie looked at Evelyn with a smile. "Then I will take my incapable brother back for now. We can arrange another time to invite Ms. Kyte for a meal. I think it would be nice to be friends with Ms. Kyte, but I don't know if Ms. Kyte would give us this opportunity."
