Chapter 750 Absolutely Impossible

Aidan had no idea where Joshua's confidence came from. In his view, the chances of him and Evelyn getting together were slim.
After all, he understood Evelyn's personality well. When she liked someone, she wouldn't easily let go.
As for Evelyn's feelings for Joshua back then, Aidan saw it as a childish crush, not genuine love.
However, Joshua was the only person Evelyn had ever confessed to, which made things a bit different. Aidan could only place his hopes on Joshua.
After he left the hospital room, Joshua looked at the person lying on the bed and chuckled, "Evelyn, who would've thought that after all these years, you'd still end up with me.
"You were really mad when I rejected you back then, weren't you? All these years, you never contacted me," Joshua talked to himself, unable to help but reminisce about the old days.
Joshua wasn't from Tara Village. He met Evelyn, Aidan, and Niall when they left the village to attend school in town.
They had known each other since childhood. From elementary school to middle school and then high school, they were always in the same school.
However, after high school graduation, the Garcia family sent Joshua abroad for college, while Evelyn and the others went to college in Moris City, which forced them to part ways.
It was around that time that Evelyn confessed to him. Unfortunately, he believed that one shouldn't let emotions interfere with his future, so he chose to reject Evelyn and go abroad.
Over the years, Joshua had always regretted that decision.
After leaving, Joshua realized that a future without Evelyn was meaningless.
But he had already left and was too afraid to come back.
When he heard that Evelyn got married, he was even more afraid to return.
Later, when Evelyn got divorced, he decided to come back. Joshua didn't want to miss another chance.
However, Joshua was also anxious. After all these years, he was not sure if Evelyn would still like him as she did before or was her affection for him back then even real.
The mercenaries' attempt to kill Evelyn had failed, and Walter was furious, feeling like he had wasted his money on a bunch of useless people.
He looked at David in front of him, said somewhat angrily, "Didn't you say you've never failed before?
"A hundred million dollars, and this is how you handle it?"
David didn't seem embarrassed by the accusation. "Given this failure, we can kill one more person for you."
The target for the hundred million dollars was specific. Since they failed to kill Evelyn, they had to make up for it.
Killing one more person wasn't a big deal for them.
Eugene, who was standing nearby, was furious, thinking, 'Kill one more person? So, we are just going to let the matter of killing Evelyn go?'
His hatred for Evelyn surpassed everything else, and he desperately wanted them to ensure Evelyn's death.
But Walter didn't let him speak and instead smiled and nodded, "Thank you. I'll send you the details of the next target shortly. I hope you won't fail this time."
"Absolutely not," David said. His eyes were cold. If they failed again, he might as well quit being a mercenary.
After David left, Eugene couldn't hold back any longer. "Walter, are we just going to let this go? These mercenaries are useless; we should pay them less."
"Eugene, don't provoke these people. They fear nothing and aren't worth the trouble for a bit of money," Walter said. He understood well that these people were not to be trifled with.
Hearing this, Eugene could only mutter a few curses under his breath before asking, "So what about Evelyn? Are we just going to let her go?"
