Chapter 205 Never Put Yourself in Danger
Aidan's back stiffened instantly upon hearing Niall's words. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. He stared at Niall and asked, "What do you mean by that, Niall?"
Niall had discovered his feelings for Evelyn?
Impossible! He has always disguised himself well, even Evelyn did not notice, how does Niall know?
At this moment, Aidan's heart is pounding. If Niall really knows, how should he react? Should he tell the truth or deny it?
Aidan felt complicated and in a panic. Niall saw all this and his heart sank. So, it's really like this?
"It doesn't mean anything. I was just joking." he lowered his head. They grew up together since they were young. If it's exposed, how should they deal with it in the future?
"Oh," Aidan responded without questioning, and continued to focus on cooking. He thought that Niall might have already guessed, but he chose not to expose it, which shows that he still cares about their brotherhood. Aidan felt relieved.
This meal was not enjoyable. For some reason, Evelyn felt that her two brothers seemed a bit off tonight. She didn't know the reason, and she couldn't help but think too much.
After dinner, the two left, and Evelyn finally managed to lie down in bed for a good sleep. However, she hadn't fallen asleep yet, but her phone ringing interrupted her. Seeing that Dermot was the one calling, she couldn’t help but swear.
"What's up?" she asked, not in a very good tone.
Dermot hesitated, as if for a moment he was brought back to when Evelyn still disliked him.
"What's wrong with you? Are you in a bad mood?" he tentatively asked, thinking that couldn't have changed just because she returned to Moris City, right?
Evelyn also knew that her tone was not good. She was just about to fall asleep when she was awakened by someone, so she was very annoyed.
"I'm fine, just a bit tired, want to sleep," she said.
"Okay, sorry for calling at the wrong time," Dermot quickly understood. "Then get some sleep. I'll come see you tomorrow."
"No thanks. I have plans tomorrow," Evelyn refused. She had already promised to have dinner with Natalie tomorrow.
Dermot frowned, "What plans?"
"Natalie invited me to dinner, I can't refuse," she didn't plan to hide it. Besides, Dermot could find out with a simple check.
Hearing this, Dermot immediately frowned, "She invited you to dinner?"
"Yes, and she's bringing Oliver along. Of course, I can't refuse," Evelyn didn't care about Natalie's intentions.
"I'll come with you tomorrow," Dermot didn't stop her. He knew he couldn't stop Evelyn. All he could do was accompany her.
Evelyn raised an eyebrow and sighed, "No thanks. She doesn't dare to do anything to me, at least not now."
"Perhaps you're right, but what if something happens?" Dermot asked back. "Evelyn, I hope you never put yourself in danger."
Suddenly being cared for like that, Evelyn was still a bit uncomfortable.
Evelyn felt a little strange, "I'm not a child. I don't need you to remind me."
"You do sometimes seem like a child," Dermot chuckled lightly.
Evelyn was speechless and choked, "I don't. Stop talking nonsense."
After saying that, she yawned and felt sleepy.
"Well, sweet dreams," Dermot didn't say anymore, knowing that she hadn't been resting well lately.
Evelyn said goodnight before hanging up the phone and falling asleep immediately.
Dermot hanged up the call, but his expression became unusually serious.
Natalie invited Evelyn to dinner? It didn't seem like a good thing to him at all.
