Chapter 273 What can You Do to Help Me?
Having settled John and on their way back to the apartment, Evelyn suddenly remembered Ethan and Mia. She couldn't help but ask the man next to her, "Have you heard any news about the adoptive family you were supposed to find?"
"Yeah, they have been found, but we haven't made contact yet," Dermot replied. After all, it was something Evelyn had entrusted to him, so he naturally wanted to do his best.
Hearing this, Evelyn breathed a sigh of relief. She had been too busy recently and didn't have time to take care of the two children, so she sent them to Tara Village and instructed the villagers to look after them.
But this couldn't go on. They needed to find an adoptive family for them as soon as possible and let them return to a normal life.
"Give me their information, and I'll investigate," Evelyn said. When it came to investigation, she believed that no one could do a better job than her.
Dermot didn't refuse either, knowing Evelyn had a talent for this. "Alright."
In no time, the car arrived at Barberts Apartment. Since it was already late, the two of them simply said goodnight to each other before going home to rest.
They went to sleep, but there was someone who couldn't sleep that night.
In the Irvine family, in the spacious Ackers Manor, sounds of smashing and breaking could be heard from a small villa on the east side.
The servants watched Phoebe in anger, each of them keeping their distance and not daring to approach.
"Damn it!" she muttered angrily while smashing things. "Evelyn! I won't let this go for forcing Aidan away!"
When she was in a fit of rage, her phone rang. Seeing who was calling, her expression didn't improve much. "What do you want from me?"
"Don't have such animosity towards me. I'm here to help you," Natalie's kind voice came from the other end of the phone, but Phoebe didn't appreciate it much.
"Help me? What can you do to help me?" she scoffed, not interested in engaging with her.
Natalie wasn't offended and smiled. "Isn't it because you're unhappy about Aidan leaving? You know very well that Evelyn is the one responsible for all of this. Don't you want to teach her a lesson?"
This struck a chord with Phoebe. She did want to find an opportunity to teach Evelyn a lesson, but she didn't know how. She was filled with anger.
"Come out for a drink," Natalie said and hung up the phone, sending her the address of a bar.
Phoebe looked at the address, hesitating and grinding her teeth.
She wasn't foolish. She knew that Natalie's seemingly kind offer to help was just a way to use her to deal with Evelyn. But then again, there didn't seem to be any contradiction in this.
They both wanted to teach Evelyn a lesson, so what harm could it do to meet her? Who knows, it might be beneficial in some way.
She can really come up with a good way to teach Evelyn a lesson.
With a decision made in her heart, she quickly changed her clothes and then left Murong Manor.
On Monday, Evelyn woke up early, as it was going to be another busy day for her.
Dermot, as usual, rang her doorbell and brought her breakfast. "I'm starting to suspect if the Doyle Group is going bankrupt. You don't seem busy at all."
"In case it does go bankrupt, can Dr. Kyte give me some food?" Dermot asked with a smile, seeming to care about Evelyn's answer.
Evelyn glared at him and took the breakfast. "No!"
"Really? Is Dr. Kyte so kind that he would let me starve on the streets?" Dermot approached her, looking pitifully at her.
Evelyn ate her breakfast and casually said, "Don't worry, with Mr. Doyle's appearance, if he ever goes bankrupt, there will definitely be plenty of wealthy women willing to support you. You won't starve."
