Chapter 395 I Should Have Kept Quiet

After two surgeries, Evelyn came out of the operating room feeling exhausted.
"You must be tired. Have some water."

Greg handed her a bottle of mineral water, but Evelyn didn't reach out to take it. Instead, she asked him, "What are you here for again?" She was getting a bit annoyed. Couldn't this man leave her alone for a while?

"Well, I'm just worried about you," Greg smiled and said as he followed Evelyn into her office.

Leaning back in her chair, Evelyn finally felt more comfortable. "I'm fine, no need to worry."
"Are you really fine like this?" Greg sighed, sitting across from her. "Don't pretend to be strong.
I know you're not feeling well."

Evelyn glanced at him and surprisingly spoke up.
"Breaking up, of course, makes people feel a bit uncomfortable, but it's okay. They say time and new love are the best ways to get over a heartbreak." Greg looked at her with anticipation.

Evelyn: ???
"So, would you consider me? I'm definitely better than that man Dermot," he said.
Evelyn was speechless. She really wanted to punch someone. Forcing herself to hold back, she didn't lay a hand on him. "I've said many times that I'm not interested in you. Are you joking with me?"

Putting aside the fact that she just broke up with Dermot, even if she hadn't, she still wouldn't be interested in Greg. Why wouldn't this guy listen?

"Just because you weren't interested before doesn't mean you're not interested now, right?" Greg didn't plan to give up. He didn't give up when Evelyn had a boyfriend, and now that she doesn't, he has even more reason not to give up.

Evelyn massaged her forehead, feeling a headache coming on.
Seeing her discomfort, Greg quickly spoke with concern, "Are you okay? Are you feeling unwell? Let me take you back to rest."

Evelyn nodded. She really wanted to go back and rest, and it didn't matter who took her.
As Evelyn closed her eyes to rest in Greg's car, he refrained from disturbing her.

He needed to take it slow. The more he rushed, the further he would push this woman away.
The car quickly disappeared from the hospital entrance, and neither of them noticed the car parked across the street.

Through the car window, Dermot watched as Evelyn got into Greg's car and drove away. A piercing pain shot through his chest, causing him to bend over in agony.

Todd, sitting in the driver's seat, panicked and quickly asked, "Mr. Doyle, are you okay?"

"I'm fine, let's go." Dermot forced himself to sit up straight, reassuring himself that he would explain everything to Evelyn after he dealt with Benjamin.

But Todd was still worried and couldn't help but say, "Should we go to the hospital for a check-up?"

The hospital is just across the street, Todd wanted Dermot to go check it out.
Dermot cast a cold glance at him and Todd quickly started the car, saying, "Sorry, I shouldn't have said anything. Let's go."

The car started and drove away.
Outside the apartment building, Evelyn got off Greg's car and, seeing that the person was still planning to follow her, couldn't help but feel annoyed. "Go back. I don't have time to entertain you."

"Fine." Greg nodded helplessly. As she was about to leave, he quickly added, "I ordered takeout for you. Don't eat instant noodles; they're not good for your health."

Evelyn didn't turn around but still waved to him as a thank you.
Greg smiled as he watched her figure disappear, feeling quite good as though he had made progress.

Evelyn reached her own doorstep and immediately saw Natalie standing there, who knows for how long. Her already irritated mood became even more annoyed.

"Oh, how does it feel to be dumped by Dermot again? Are you too embarrassed to stay in Moris City?" Natalie walked towards her, triumphant and excited.
