Chapter 1325 Extra: Niall and Lily's Wedding
After Ruby's wedding, Niall and Lily were like, "Let's get hitched ASAP!" They couldn't wait.
Evelyn didn't really do much for Ruby's wedding; Ruby pretty much handled it all. But Niall's wedding? Whole different story.
Being Niall's family, Evelyn had to dive into all the wedding prep, even busier than her own big day.
And she wasn't the only one swamped; Aidan, the big bro, was running around like crazy.
But every time Evelyn saw Aidan, she couldn't help but think about how he might become a clergyman after Niall's wedding, and it totally bummed her out.
"Aidan, you still set on that plan?" Evelyn asked, feeling all kinds of nervous.
Aidan was knee-deep in wedding stuff. He barely looked up when he answered, "Yeah, after Niall's wedding, I'm starting my new life."
He was itching to get going, convinced that the Catholic church was calling his name.
Evelyn felt stuck. She wanted to talk him out of it but knew it was a lost cause, so she just let it go.
She kept racking her brain, trying to figure out how to make Aidan ditch that idea.
But no matter how hard she thought, she came up empty.
The next day, Niall and Lily's wedding went off without a hitch.
Niall even gave a shoutout to Evelyn and Aidan on stage. Evelyn got all teary-eyed, like she was watching her own kid get married.
But Aidan? Cool as a cucumber. While everyone else was clueless about what was on his mind, Evelyn knew exactly what was up.
After the wedding, Evelyn tried to catch Aidan for a chat, but he had already bounced from the venue.
During all this, Dermot stuck close to Evelyn, knowing she was stressing. "Evelyn, Aidan's made up his mind. No matter what you say, he's not budging."
Even though Dermot thought Aidan's decision was kinda nuts, he still respected it.
"I get that, but I can't just sit here and do nothing, right? Am I supposed to just watch him become a clergyman?" Evelyn was having a hard time swallowing it.
Dermot was quiet for a sec, then said, "If anything could change Aidan's mind, it might be Phoebe's baby."
After all, that kid was Aidan's only real tie to the world, whether he liked it or not.
Evelyn's eyes lit up. "Yeah, the baby!"
She checked the calendar and saw Phoebe's due date was coming up fast. She decided to call Phoebe to check in.
But the news was bad.
Evelyn rushed to the hospital and found out Phoebe had an emergency C-section. The baby was here, but not on time; Phoebe's condition had gone south, and they had to act fast.
When Evelyn and Dermot got to the hospital, only Craig was there, waiting outside the emergency room. He didn't even know what was up until the hospital called him, since he was Phoebe's only emergency contact.
"What happened? How did it get this bad?" Evelyn asked, even though Craig looked like he was falling apart. She needed the details to figure out the next move.
