Chapter 913 I Will Handle It Personally
"Grandpa, was my father really killed by the Martin family?" Otis asked, still skeptical. They barely interacted with the Martins and had no major conflicts. It didn't make sense.
Dermot had shown Otis some documents, and Otis had checked them himself. The Martins did have contact with the two killers, and it seemed likely they were involved.
But something still felt off to Otis.
Randy looked up and asked, "What do you think?"
"All the evidence points to the Martins, but it still feels strange," Otis said, unable to pinpoint why.
Randy chuckled and said coldly, "It's strange because it wasn't the Martins."
"But the evidence..."
"That evidence only shows the Martins contacted the killers. It doesn't prove they were behind it," Randy explained.
Otis frowned, confused. "Then why would the Martins contact the killers and frame Dermot?"
"My guess is they wanted to divert our attention and frame Dermot, so they took the risk of contacting those two killers." Randy, being experienced, had his own speculations.
Otis was surprised and confused. "If it wasn't the Martins, it could be Dermot. Without their interference, we could have investigated him."
"That's why I say the Martins are idiots," Randy said. They couldn't grasp simple logic yet remained a top family for years.
Actually, it wasn't entirely the Martin family's fault. They couldn't have guessed that Randy had already developed a murderous intent towards Dermot. In their view, Gerald's death was most likely James's doing. After all, Gerald and James were the real contenders.
As for Dermot, just like others, they knew that as long as Randy wasn't foolish, he wouldn't hand over the Doyle family to him.
"So what do we do now? Just let Dermot go?" Otis asked, angry at the thought of his father being killed by Dermot.
As a member of the Doyle family, he had never felt such humiliation.
Randy sneered, "Let him go?"
Before, he might have spared Dermot if he behaved. But now, after Gerald's death, there was no way.
No matter how many conflicts he had with Gerald, Gerald was still his son. How could he let it go after Gerald died at Dermot's hands?
"Grandpa, should I send someone to kill him?" Otis suggested.
Randy shook his head. "I'll handle it myself."
"Grandpa, you don't need to do it yourself," Otis said, thinking he could handle Dermot.
Randy gave him a look, and Otis fell silent, understanding Randy thought he wasn't a match for Dermot.
He wanted to argue but remembered the failed plan last time and kept quiet.
