Chapter 694: She Should Be Happier Than Me
Chapter 694: She Should Be Happier Than Me
Upon hearing Evelyn's words, Lucia's suspicions heightened, sensing that something was amiss. "I'm informing you that I am now Wade's fiancée. If you dare to conspire against me in secret, Wade won't forgive you."
Evelyn's lips curled up, almost wanting to laugh.
"You're overthinking it. I have no intention of plotting against you."
Evelyn was familiar with Wade's temperament. With Lucia moving in, it was clear that a difficult life awaited her, so there was no need for Evelyn to scheme.
"Really?" Lucia didn't believe it.
Evelyn nodded and added, "Hurry up and pack, don't keep him waiting."
"Alright," Lucia nodded, thinking it made sense, and turned back to continue packing her things.
As they conversed, Dora stood by silently, eyeing Evelyn with suspicion.
It seemed odd that Evelyn didn't intervene, considering that an improvement in Lucia's relationship with Wade would not benefit her.
Was Evelyn confident that Lucia and Wade wouldn't develop romantic feelings for each other?
Thinking of this, Dora's mood also became heavy. This had actually been Dora's worry all along.
After Evelyn left, Dora couldn't help but say, "Lucia, why don't you think it over again? I always feel that Wade 's invitation is mostly not a good thing."
"Mom, we are already engaged. Could he still harm me?" Lucia said while packing.
Lucia sensed that Dora was overanalyzing the situation. As Wade's fiancée, it was reasonable for him to show concern for her and suggest that she move in.
"But at the engagement party, you saw Wade's attitude. He clearly doesn't like you, yet he turns around and asks you to move in. Isn't that strange?" When Wade sent the message asking Lucia to move in, Dora was really shocked.
Lucia remained stubborn and unyielding.
After a moment of silence, she also sensed Wade's sudden change in attitude.
However, she bit her lip, as if solidifying her resolve, stating, "Regardless of Wade's motives, my sole objective is to make him fall in love with me."
"Mom, I know you're worried, but if I don't move in with Wade, how can we develop feelings?"
"I don't want to end up like you and Dad, clearly a married couple, but living like enemies."
Lucia's words were quite hurtful, without considering Dora's feelings at all, which inevitably made Dora a bit unhappy.
"Do as you please, but don't come crying to me if you get hurt."
Dora didn't feel the need to elaborate. Whatever she said, Lucia wouldn't listen and would only respond with hurtful comments, which wasn't worth Dora's time.
She realized that she needed to prioritize herself. With Lucia having found another place to stay, there was nothing holding Dora back from leaving the Kyte family.
Lucia quickly finished packing. Evelyn was sitting in the living room, watching Lucia leave with a smile on her face, dragging her luggage. Not even Blake or Dora had any intention of seeing her off. The scene was quite interesting.
With the confirmation of her departure, Evelyn stretched, feeling a significant improvement in her mood now that the irritating person was gone.
However, her attention shifted to Dora, who sat across from her. Dora's presence posed a more challenging situation, causing Evelyn to remain vigilant and unable to relax her guard.
As if sensing Evelyn's gaze, Dora looked at her, "Lucia moved out, you must be very happy, right?"
"As for this, Lucia should be happier than me." Evelyn replied with a smile, not in a hurry to leave, wanting to see what Dora had to say.
