Chapter 731 Come with Me

"Do you want to continue living this broke life?" Evelyn asked her.

Jennifer felt awkward and a bit embarrassed. "But I don't have any skills, so what can I do?"

"You're so good at fighting, that's a skill too." Evelyn looked at her, genuinely believing it.

Jennifer just gave a helpless smile and sighed, "What's the use of being good at fighting? I can only be a bodyguard."

The problem was that she couldn't even find a bodyguard job right now.

"You can work for me." Evelyn revealed her intention. She had spent so much time on Jennifer just to get her to work for her.

Jennifer was stunned, genuinely surprised. "Work for you? Being your bodyguard?"

Suddenly, she thought that being Evelyn's bodyguard might not be so bad.

But then again, Evelyn was quite capable herself; did she even need a bodyguard?

Sure enough, Evelyn shook her head. "I don't need a bodyguard."

On one hand, she was quite capable herself, and on the other, she didn't like having someone follow her around.

"Oh, then what can I do for you? Besides fighting, I can't do anything else." She felt a bit down, wishing Evelyn would just let her be a bodyguard.

"Whether you can or not depends on whether you're willing to learn." Evelyn stared at her and continued, "I can spend time training you, and it just depends on whether you're willing."

She had discussed with Luke about establishing their own intelligence sources and had been looking for the right person to help manage the bar. Now that she met Jennifer, Evelyn thought she was a good fit.

Jennifer was good at fighting, which was suitable for a bar, and she could easily handle any troublemakers.

Evelyn's words made Jennifer hesitate. She always thought she was not smart enough. "I'm afraid I won't be able to learn."

"There's no such thing as not being able to learn, it just depends on whether you put your heart into it." Evelyn believed Jennifer could learn. After all, it was just managing a bar, and most things wouldn't require her to handle personally.

Jennifer didn't say anything, and Evelyn felt a bit frustrated with her lack of ambition. "An opportunity is right in front of you, and you don't cherish it. No wonder you've achieved nothing all these years."

Her words were harsh, partly to provoke Jennifer, but she was genuinely frustrated.

Jennifer didn't know what to say for a moment.

"Stop talking so much, just tell me if you're willing or not. If you are, come with me and do whatever I ask. If not, you can leave now," Evelyn interrupted her, not wanting to hear any more excuses.

There wasn't much sentiment between them anyway. Evelyn just needed someone to help, and Jennifer needed a job.

If she was willing, it would be a win-win situation. If not, Evelyn would just find someone else.

Jennifer, a bit annoyed, said, "Fine, I'm willing."

She wasn't unwilling to manage the bar but worried about causing trouble for Evelyn.

"That's settled then," Evelyn nodded and smiled. "Do you want to eat anything else? Order whatever you like."

Now that she was her boss, Evelyn was always generous with her employees.

Seeing her change so quickly, Jennifer was a bit taken aback.

But she didn't hold back. "I still want to wander around Golombia. I've been here for two days and haven't had a chance to look around."

Mainly because she had no money, and seeing all the delicious food would make her hungry, so she didn't dare to go out.

But now, she had a job, so it was different.

"Alright." Evelyn nodded, called the waiter to pay the bill, and then took Jennifer to wander around the major food streets in Golombia, letting her eat to her heart's content before ending the day.
