Chapter 1142: I Don't Care About Those

Evelyn didn't say a word after hearing that. Seemed like they had their minds made up. "Need any help with anything?"

"Yeah," Keith grinned but didn't say more, just looked over at Sarah.

Evelyn was confused until Sarah chimed in, "We've got the wedding date and all the details set, but I still need a bridesmaid. I was hoping you and Ruby could step in."

"Sure thing, no problem," Evelyn agreed right away. She was stoked to be Sarah's bridesmaid.

Then a thought hit her. "Wait, I've been divorced. Is that gonna be an issue? I thought bridesmaids were supposed to be single."

"Doesn't matter to me," Sarah said. She just wanted her besties by her side, no matter their status.

With Sarah's blessing, Evelyn was all in. "Alright, it's a deal."

Then Evelyn asked, "Got the groomsmen sorted out?"

Keith nodded. "Yep, all set."

They were a couple of his guys from work. He didn't really care about the details; he just wanted to marry Sarah. As for the groomsmen, he just wanted them to be less good-looking than him.

"Why didn't you ask me to be a groomsman?" Dermot suddenly piped up, catching everyone off guard.

Keith's jaw dropped. "You? Seriously?"

If Dermot was his groomsman, that'd be awesome.

"You asked Evelyn to be a bridesmaid but didn't ask me to be a groomsman. You cool with Evelyn standing next to some other dude?" He didn't really want to be Keith's groomsman; he just didn't like the idea of Evelyn with another guy.

Sarah quickly waved her hands. "We didn't mean it like that. We just thought you wouldn't be interested."

"If Evelyn's in, then I'm in too." The message was clear: if Evelyn wasn't in, neither was he.

Sarah and Keith exchanged looks, both on the same page. "Alright then, it's settled. Evelyn's the bridesmaid, and you're the groomsman."

"What about me? You gonna pair me with some rando?" Ruby joked.

Sarah looked a bit stuck. There was no one else to pick, so Evelyn suggested, "How about Alex?"

"What?" Ruby was shocked. "He doesn't even know Sarah."

"So what? A couple of dinners and they'll be fine. Plus, I think he'd be up for it."

Evelyn glanced at Sarah, who nodded right away. "No problem, I'll hit him up later."

Reaching out to Alex was no biggie.

Ruby stayed quiet, and Dermot said softly, "If you don't want Alex, I can ask Craig."

"No way!" Ruby waved her hand. "Alex is good."

Compared to Craig, Ruby thought Alex was a better pick.

Dermot sighed to himself. 'Craig, looks like you're out of luck.'

With that sorted, Sarah got up to hit the restroom. Evelyn took the chance to look at Keith. "Got everything squared away with the Kartland family? I don't want any drama on the big day."

"Relax, do I seem like the unreliable type? The Kartland family listens to me now. Even if some of them aren't happy, they'll just have to deal with it!" He wasn't the same Keith from Moris City anymore.

Not that he was a saint back in Moris City. Now, dealing with the Kartland family, he was even less likely to play nice.

(I highly recommend a captivating book that I couldn't put down for three days and nights. It's incredibly engaging and a must-read. The title of the book is "After Car Sex with the CEO" You can find it by searching for it in the search bar.
Here is the synopsis of the book:
After being betrayed by my boyfriend, I immediately turned to his friend, a handsome and wealthy CEO, and slept with him.
I initially thought it was just an impulsive one-night stand, but I never expected that this CEO had been infatuated with me for a long time.
He had approached my boyfriend solely because of me...)
