Chapter 677: Shouldn't I Hate You?

"Okay, I'll be careful."

"Okay, let's have dinner together in a couple of days."

Ruby held her phone, perfunctorily talking to Evelyn on the other end of the line. Her peripheral vision couldn't help but glance at Craig sitting across from her, and she felt extremely nervous inside.

Ruby chose not to tell Evelyn about Craig sitting right in front of her. She had seen the news these days and knew that the Kyte family was in turmoil internally, and she didn't want Evelyn to worry about her at this time.

Moreover, Craig was just sitting across from her and hadn't done anything to her, not even spoken with her.

After hanging up, Ruby placed her phone on the table, carefully picked up the cup on the table, took a shallow sip of water, and barely suppressed her inner fear.

But no matter how much she tried to suppress it, Craig could still see her fear of him at a glance. "Are you afraid of me?"

Ruby unconsciously tightened her grip on the cup, took a while to recover, and said, "No."

"No? You look so nervous; it doesn't seem like anything," Craig sneered. After not seeing each other for a few days, Ruby's lying skills hadn't improved at all.

Ruby put down the cup and looked at Craig. "Do you have something?"

"If I don't have anything, can't I find you? Or do you think you can relax just because you've come to Columbia?" Craig sneered, his eyes fixed on Ruby, inexplicably suffocating.

Ruby felt a bit breathless under Craig's gaze but still forced herself to say, "Craig, You have the choice of any kind of woman you desire. Why do you have to focus on me? What have I done to offend you?"

She didn't understand why Craig kept pursuing her, causing her to flee Moris City with her parents.

"You've offended me in many ways." Craig could see the anger in Ruby's heart, feeling a bit uncomfortable.

If Ruby hadn't repeatedly tried to escape, he wouldn't have pressed her step by step.

Craig's words made Ruby unable to control her urge to explode. "Tell me, what have I done to offend you? Tell me!"

Ruby was very agitated, standing up from her chair. "Am I not miserable enough now? I've left my hometown, and now you're chasing me relentlessly. Do you want to drive me to death?"

Craig had never seen Ruby so out of control, and he felt a twinge in his heart. "I don't want to force you," he said.

"Aren't you? Then what do you want now?" Since Craig appeared, Ruby felt a bit out of control.

Ruby felt like she might be sick because she had a stress reaction every time she saw Craig.

Craig pursed his lips and said after a while, "I just came to say hello to you and ask how you've been recently."

Craig's tone was much softer than before, not as aggressive as usual, but Ruby still didn't relax because of this. "I was fine before I saw you, very fine."

Although she would think of Craig late at night, most of the time, she enjoyed the days without Craig.

"Do you really hate me that much?" Craig didn't understand. Ruby had said she loved him before. How could things change so quickly?

Ruby found Craig's words ridiculous, slowly sitting back in her original position, trying to control her emotions. "Shouldn't I hate you? If it weren't for you, my parents and I wouldn't have to leave the place where I grew up. Don't you feel a bit guilty in your heart?"

Before Craig could reply, Ruby laughed to herself. "I'm so silly. How could someone like you feel guilty? Perhaps in your mind, you still think it's my fault for not knowing any better."
