Chapter 294 Shut Up
At the dining table, Emily Morgans' eyes almost fell on Dermot.
Joseph Morgans felt embarrassed about this. "Evelyn, how long are you planning to stay this time?" Joseph had to shift the conversation to Evelyn in order to barely suppress the anger in his heart.
Evelyn was eating her food and looked up. "Uncle, I came to pick up Ethan Mia and the others. We're going back early tomorrow morning."
"Are you in such a hurry? Since you're already here, why not stay a few more days?" He felt a bit disappointed and really hoped that Evelyn would stay longer.
Evelyn shook her head. She hadn't even spoken yet when she heard Arianna Morgans say sarcastically, "She's a city person now, so of course she can't stand living in the countryside."
"You shut up!" Joseph Morgans angrily yelled. "Evelyn would never think like that."
"Aunt, no matter where I go, I will always be a resident of Tara Village." Evelyn smiled at Arianna Morgans, ignoring her mockery.
Arianna Morgans snorted, about to say something else, but was met with a cold glare from Joseph Morgans. She had no choice but to shut her mouth and not say anything further, but she still resented Evelyn deep down.
Why was it that both grandchildren of the Morgans family were treated differently?
Only Evelyn had been raised by that old man since childhood, given various teachers for her education, and her marriage had even been arranged before his death, to a wealthy family from Moris City, they say.
Turning her head to look at her own daughter, who had nothing even now, how could she not feel resentment in comparison?
After finishing the meal, Joseph Morgans asked Evelyn to take Dermot around. Emily Morgans, however, suddenly chimed in, "I'll take Dermot around. Won't Evelyn go find those two children? Hurry up."
In just a short amount of time, Emily Morgans had already looked up Dermot's personal information online. She couldn't help it, as she found the man in front of her familiar, as if she had seen him somewhere before.
Once she started looking, she couldn't believe what she found. He was the president of the Doyle Group, the wealthiest person in Moris City.
He was not only handsome but also rich. If she missed out on a man like him, wouldn't she regret it for a lifetime?
Evelyn glanced at Emily, seeing right through her intentions, but didn't refuse. "Alright then, you take him."
Dermot immediately turned his head to look at Evelyn, his eyes full of warning.
Evelyn forced a smile and shrugged. "My cousin is just being kind, and I can't really refuse. What do you think?"
"Together." The man didn't pay attention to her explanation. He had no interest in this Emily Morgans, and if it wasn't for the fact that she was Evelyn's cousin, he would have already kicked her aside.
"Dermot..."
"Let's go, we need to find Ethan and Mia." Dermot didn't want to listen to her speak and walked out the door.
Evelyn followed, and Emily Morgans hesitated but also followed.
After the three left, only Arianna Morgans and Joseph Morgans remained in the living room. "Look at your daughter, she acts as if she's never seen a man before. What is she thinking?"
"Whose fault is that?" Arianna Morgans glared at him, not feeling that her daughter was at fault. "Isn't it your fault, arranging the marriage but not arranging it for Emily as well?"
"Evelyn is clearly younger than Emily, why is her marriage ahead of Emily's? Isn't this favoritism?"
Hearing this, Joseph Morgans immediately became frustrated. "How many times do I have to explain? This marriage wasn't arranged by your father, it was an engagement already established between Evelyn and the other party. Don't you understand?"
"I don't care about that. In any case, you must care about Emily's future. It would be best if Evelyn can find her a wealthy family in Moris City. Emily is supposed to become a young lady, not marry a useless man like me." Arianna Morgans spoke in an extremely derogatory way, not even bothering to conceal her disdain for Joseph Morgans.
She was just waiting for Emily Morgans to marry into a wealthy family so she could join her and enjoy the good life. She didn't want to stay in this small village for the rest of her life.
