Chapter 975: Troublemakers

Dermot grabbed his phone from the shop owner, thanked her, and started scrolling through his photos.

He couldn't help but smile more and more as he looked. Evelyn peeked over and said, "This angle makes me look a bit chubby."

"Nah, it's perfect," Dermot replied, slipping his phone into his pocket, planning to have Todd print and frame it later.

Evelyn shot him a look. "A little warning would've been nice. I would've dressed up. Oh well..."

She glanced at her bundled-up outfit and shrugged it off.

"You're always beautiful to me," Dermot said sweetly, leaving Evelyn momentarily speechless.

Nearby, a group of kids was having a snowball fight, and one accidentally hit Evelyn on the head.

Dermot's face darkened as he glared at the kids, muttering, "Troublemakers."

"Let it go," Evelyn said, but Dermot scooped up some snow and threw it at the kids.

Evelyn was stunned.

"Get him!" the kids shouted, rallying against Dermot.

A chaotic snowball fight broke out. Evelyn watched at first, but Dermot soon pulled her in, and she joined the fun.

"You guys are bullying us!" the kids yelled, but they were no match for Evelyn and Dermot.

In the end, Evelyn and Dermot won, and the kids were reluctantly dragged home by their parents.

Evelyn, now sweating despite the cold, hadn't had this much fun in ages.

"Was it fun?" Dermot asked, watching her catch her breath.

"Yeah, it was," she admitted. It was her first snowball fight, and she finally understood why people enjoyed them so much.

"Want to do it again tomorrow?" Dermot suggested.

Evelyn quickly shook her head. "No way, people might really think we're bullying kids."

They had given the kids a tough time, and she felt a bit guilty.

"Don't worry, I think they had fun too," Dermot said, brushing snow off her head.

They stood close, their heartbeats loud in the quiet.

"Dermot," Evelyn started, but he suddenly kissed her.

She wanted to push him away, but he held her hands, leaving her no choice but to let him.

Snow fell around them, and the shop owner in the distance snapped a photo with her phone.

As the kids' voices rang out again, Dermot finally let go. He wasn't worried about being seen, but Evelyn's face was so red that if he didn't stop, she might be too embarrassed to stay in the neighborhood.
