Chapter 107 I Have Limits
Evelyn was warning him, even though their relationship seemed to be going well now. She wouldn't show any mercy if he acted beyond her limit.
Keith nodded with a smile, softly whispering in her ear, "Don't worry. I have limits."
He was just intentionally making Dermot feel uncomfortable, he wouldn't actually act recklessly.
Evelyn wasn't too comfortable with him being so close. She glared at him and turned to walk towards a corner, finding a place with fewer people to rest.
"Eve." Marina approached Evelyn and handed her a glass of champagne.
Evelyn nodded in thanks, then asked, "Where are your parents?"
"Oh, they're over there, seems like they're discussing some cooperation." Marina pouted, clearly not liking it.
But Evelyn was more open-minded, she smiled and said, "To the Doyle family, this is Grandpa Doyle's birthday celebration. But to the other guests attending, it's an opportunity to expand their connections. This shows how hard-working your parents are, never letting any chance slip by."
"I know." Marina replied with a smile.
Oh, it's not that she doesn't understand. She just can't bear to watch.
In her heart, her parents are very powerful figures, and she has always been proud of them. But seeing them today, speaking in a submissive manner while discussing cooperation with someone, she can't help but feel heartbroken.
As if knowing what she is thinking, Evelyn reaches out and pats her shoulder. "Don't be sad. They lower their heads here so they can hold their heads high outside."
"Eve, you always see things clearly." After being comforted like this, Marina feels much better.
As they talk, they notice that more and more people are coming to the banquet hall, which leaves them speechless.
It seems that the Doyle family has indeed gone all out this time, inviting quite a number of guests.
"Eve, look at that person from the Barns family getting close to Dermot again." Marina looks curiously towards the nearby area and signals for Evelyn to look as well.
In front of them, Natalie is wearing a floor-length red gown, perfectly showcasing her curves. She stands next to Dermot, who is wearing a black suit, and they seem quite well-matched.
Evelyn finds this scene quite pleasing to the eye. After all, they make a handsome couple. But Marina doesn't think so.
She whispers to Evelyn, "Eve, did you know that Dermot is married?"
Evelyn is taken aback and looks at Marina with surprise.
"Hehe, you didn't know, did you?" Marina thought Evelyn was surprised because she didn't know. But in fact, Evelyn was surprised that she knew. She didn't think that the news of her marriage to Dermot had been leaked.
"I heard that Dermot was arranged to get married by Grandpa Doyle two years ago. At that time, that Miss from the Barns family was quite angry. It is said that if it weren't for Grandpa Doyle's intervention, she would have married Mr. Doyle that year."
"Dermot suddenly got married, which made her angry, so she went abroad and only came back recently."
Evelyn listens, pondering.
Marina continues, "In my opinion, Dermot doesn't like that Miss from the Barns family at all It's just her wishful thinking."
"Oh? Weren't you saying that she almost married Dermot back then?" Evelyn sips her champagne and asks with a smile.
"Well, that's how the story goes. Who knows what really happened." Marina pouts and continues, "I just feel like Dermot has no feelings for her at all. He doesn't even look at her with the same affection as he does to you, Eve."
Evelyn, "..."
"Of course, I'm just giving an example. The main point is that Dermot definitely doesn't like that Miss from the Barns family. As for their almost marriage back then, I guess it was just a political alliance." Marina says.
