Chapter 239 Aidan Likes You
Phoebe said a lot in one breath, but unfortunately Evelyn didn't understand a word.
She looked at the woman, who seemed to be going crazy. She recalled the call she received from Aidan. Could it be that this woman had gone insane because Aidan rejected her?
"If you're sick, go see a doctor. Stop screaming in my place." She wasn't a psychiatrist, so she was at a loss when faced with Phoebe's condition.
"You!"
Phoebe was infuriated, pointing at Evelyn with frustration, "You're the one who's sick. You clearly call out to Aidan, yet you're hanging out with him while getting close to Dermot. What's wrong with you if not madness?"
Evelyn furrowed her brows, sensing something amiss in Phoebe. "What do you mean?"
"What do I mean? Dare you say you didn't hang around Aidan? If it weren't for you hanging around him, would he still be devoted to you?" Phoebe spoke out, and now that the situation had come to this point, she had to expose Evelyn's disguise.
Devoted?
Evelyn felt that something was off about this word.
But Phoebe didn't care about all that and continued speaking, wanting to vent all her anger at once. "Since you don't like him, why do you still hang around him? Are you planning to keep him as a backup forever?"
"I used to think you were a nice person. I thought of you as Aidan's sister, and if I end up with Aidan in the future, I would treat you like a sister. But now, I just find my past thoughts laughable."
"You're siblings, you're family. How can you do this?"
She said a lot in one breath, but even then, it couldn't relieve her anger. She still glared at Evelyn, wishing she could tear off her disguise.
Evelyn felt quite muddled, she seemed to understand something, though she wasn't entirely sure.
"I don't understand what you're saying. In my heart, Aidan will always be my brother," Evelyn said coldly, no longer showing any kindness towards Phoebe.
"I don't know what conflicts exist between you and my brother, but that is your business. I won't interfere. I respect all of his decisions," Evelyn said.
Phoebe wasn't planning on ending things like this. She grabbed Evelyn's arm and said, "Don't tell me you don't know that Aidan likes you?"
She laughed at her own words; how could Evelyn not know?
But when Evelyn heard this, she froze, almost losing her grip on the keys in her hand. It was as if she had heard something funny and couldn't help but laugh out loud. "Are you crazy? Aidan is my brother. Even if he likes me, it's only the love between family members, not as complicated as you think."
"Complicated?" Phoebe sneered. Natalie didn't fully believe it at first until Phoebe confirmed it with Aidan in the morning. She was certain of this!
"Why do you think Aidan rejected me? It's because he likes you. Don't tell me you don't feel anything?" Phoebe looked at her as if she wanted to see through her whole being.
Unfortunately, the person was Evelyn, and even though her heart was in turmoil, her face remained calm as water. "This is just your speculation. I believe Aidan doesn't have those intentions."
"Is that so? Do you believe that, or are you just afraid to face reality?" she laughed.
Evelyn shook off her hand, opened the door, and walked inside. She turned back to Phoebe and said, "This is my business. You don't need to worry about it. If you have the time, think about how to make my brother like you."
"You..."
With a bang, the door closed, and no matter how much Phoebe knocked, Evelyn didn't open it again.
