Chapter 141 Is He Dead?

Dermot strode in, his worried gaze meeting Evelyn's perplexed expression, causing him to pause before reacting.

"Are you okay?" He asked, his voice filled with concern.

Evelyn was surprised, asking uncertainly, "You came to find me?"

Dermot's face turned dark. "Otherwise? Am I here for a vacation?"

Evelyn forced a laugh, feeling a mix of emotions. She never expected that the first person to come looking for her in troubled times would be Dermot – how ironic.

"Are you alright? What happened?" He walked towards Evelyn

by.

"Nearby, ask what happened." Evelyn just said that she was a little confused now, "Nothing happened."

Dermot frowned, "Nothing happened?"

Evelyn knew that Dermot had the same doubts in his mind. The person who kidnapped her didn't do anything and just threw her into the hotel, allowing Dermot to find her. What was the purpose of doing this?

Dermot noticed the blood on the ground and looked at Evelyn nervously, "Are you injured?"

"It's not my blood." Evelyn looked towards the bedroom.

Dermot looked over and after a glance between the two, they walked into the bedroom together in unison.

The bedroom curtains were drawn, and it was pitch black inside. The two who had just entered couldn't see anything.

Dermot walked to the window and pulled open the curtains. When he turned around, he saw Evelyn standing still, with a kind of panic in her eyes that he had never seen before.

"What's wrong?" Dermot walked over and asked.

Evelyn didn't answer him, and Dermot had seen everything on the bed.

On the queen-size bed lay a familiar person, half-naked and lying there like a dead fish.

No, Dermot didn't think he was like a dead fish, but he was dead.

The person had a dagger stabbed in their chest, and blood stained the entire bed. In this situation, he couldn't possibly be alive.

"Is he dead?" After a long while, Evelyn regained her senses and tried to keep calm.

Dermot walked over to check for breath and shook his head at Evelyn, "No breath."

Even though Evelyn had been prepared, she couldn't help but take two steps back.

The person lying on the bed was Kenny, who she hated very much. She once wished for him to spend the rest of his life in prison, but when he died, she couldn't accept it.

It wasn't that she was compassionate, but rather that she felt that such a wicked person should be judged by the law, and no one else had the right to do so.

Evelyn fell into deep thought, but Dermot keenly sensed that things were not simple.

He turned and said to Evelyn, "You were in the same room as Kenny, and he died here. There is something fishy going on."

"You go first, don't let anyone find out."

Evelyn regained her senses and understood the meaning behind Dermot. With a simple thought, she could understand the conspiracy.

Someone wanted to frame her!

Realizing this, Evelyn felt relieved. She was afraid of not knowing the other party's motives, but now that she knew, it was easier to handle.

"It's okay. I want to see who is willing to use a life to frame me." Her gaze turned cold. No matter how despicable Kenny was, he was still a life.

"Don't be stubborn. Stay here..."

"Dermot, I'm not a three-year-old child. I don't need your protection." She interrupted him and looked at him with determination in her eyes.

Dermot was stunned, understanding something.

Evelyn was different from other women. They needed to protect themselves, and even hoped to protect their loved ones. But Evelyn...
