Chapter 1134: I Feel More Sorry for You

This was Evelyn's first time hitting up the third floor of the villa. Last time she was here, she just hung out by the study door on the second floor and never made it up to the third.

When she finally got to the third floor, she saw there were only two rooms. Besides Dermot's room, the other one looked like it was made just for her.

She pushed the door open and stepped in. It was way bigger than she expected.

Right when she walked in, there was this cute reception area with two pink sofas that were just adorable.

As she kept walking, she stumbled upon this massive walk-in closet just for her.

And yeah, the closet was huge.

Originally, there were five rooms on this floor, but Dermot had turned it into two. Evelyn figured Dermot must've combined four rooms for her, while his side stayed the same.

'This is not something he can complete easily,' Evelyn thought as she took in the giant walk-in closet.

The closet was packed with clothes, hats, shoes, and bags, all with tags still on them. A lot of them were styles Evelyn already had.

The king-sized bed in the master bedroom was totally her vibe, right down to the wallpaper, nightstands, and curtain colors.

This must've taken Dermot a ton of effort.

She was really touched, but she could also tell Dermot had been planning this for a while.

She didn't mind it at all. She got up, picked out an outfit, and headed to the bathroom. She hadn't changed since leaving the airport and hitting the hospital.

Fresh out of the shower, the smell of food hit her from downstairs. Her stomach growled, and she made her way to the kitchen door.

"When did you set up all that stuff upstairs?" Evelyn asked.

"I started the day I moved in." To be real, every house Dermot owned had stuff for Evelyn. He was always ready for her to move in.

Evelyn was surprised by his words, feeling a weird sensation in her heart. "Weren't you mad back then? I was living with Joshua. I thought you'd be super pissed."

She even thought Dermot would give up on her because of it.

"I was mad," Dermot didn't deny it. "But I felt even more sorry for you. Taking care of Joshua wasn't your choice. In that situation, all I could do was help you get away from him ASAP. At first, I thought about finding a doctor to treat him. Once he was treated, you wouldn't have to take care of him anymore."

Dermot added, "I just didn't expect everything to be Joshua's scheme. Thinking about it now, it's pretty scary."

Luckily, Dermot found out in time. If he hadn't, Evelyn would've been fooled by him and even gone abroad with him.

Thinking about Joshua's scheme, Evelyn's heart sank. "Yeah, who would've thought?"

"Dermot, I'm sorry." She suddenly looked at Dermot, who was chopping veggies.

Dermot looked back at her and teased, "Evelyn, don't apologize to me. Instead of 'sorry,' I'd rather hear you say you love me."

Evelyn was initially quite moved, but hearing Dermot's words, all her feelings vanished. "Hurry up and cook; I'm starving."

"Okay." Dermot smiled helplessly, not getting mad.

Leaning against the kitchen door, Evelyn watched Dermot expertly chopping veggies and cooking like he'd been a pro chef for years.

She suddenly felt that having someone cook for her was actually pretty sweet, way better than eating fast food at the hospital every day.

This was probably the only perk she found in living with Dermot.
