Chapter 162 Dermot, Don't Blame Me
On the second floor of the hotel, inside the Western restaurant.
Natalie poured Dermot a drink and said, "Come on. Drink with me. We may not have the chance to sit together like this in the future."
She spoke sadly, tears welling up in her eyes. Dermot, seeing this, couldn't bear it and didn't refuse the glass she handed him.
"Dermot, if I make a big mistake, will you forgive me?" Natalie looked at Dermot, her heart filled with anxiety.
She understood Dermot, and because of that, she knew how terrifying it could be when this man got angry.
But she had no other choice. At this point, all she could do was take a gamble. What if it succeeded?
Dermot's face grew somber as he looked at her. "Natalie, you have already made many mistakes. I hope there won't be any more 'ifs' like you mentioned."
"So, if there is another time, you won't forgive me?" Natalie felt hopeless and bitterly.
If Evelyn didn’t appear suddenly, would she have ended up like this?
That woman ruined everything, and now even Dermot didn't protect her anymore. Natalie felt like there’s only one way to go.
Dermot didn't know what she was thinking, and upon hearing her words, he instinctively furrowed his brow. "No, no one will always tolerate you, not even me."
Although they had grown up together since childhood, although Natalie had once given him a little warmth when they were young, he can’t always be tolerant.
"I see." Natalie nodded.
Raising her hand, she poured another glass of wine for Dermot. "Have another drink with me."
"You've had too much." Dermot frowned.
"Just one last drink." Natalie looked at him, her eyes watery. "Please?"
Dermot sighed and picked up the glass. "I'll drink this one and then take you back."
After finishing the glass of wine, Dermot stood up to escort Natalie back, but she remained seated and didn't get up.
She looked out the window and murmured softly, "Dermot, don't blame me. I have no choice."
"What did you say?" Dermot furrowed his brow, not quite hearing Natalie's words clearly.
Natalie turned her head and met his gaze.
"Natalie..." Dermot was about to tell her to get up and leave when he suddenly felt dizzy. He nearly lost his balance.
He saw Natalie started to become blurry. Dermot held onto the table, his anger surging. "What did you put in the drink?"
"Don't worry, Dermot. I won't take your life no matter what. It's just something that will put you to sleep." She smiled and slowly stood up, reaching out to grab Dermot's arm.
Disgust washed over him. He tried to shake her off, but he didn't succeed. Instead, he was
held on tightly by Natalie.
"Don't waste your time. You exhausted now. Even a child could control you, let alone me," she said with a faint smile as she led Dermot towards the direction of the elevator.
While waiting for the elevator, she looked back at the doorway where a figure appeared, holding a camera and continuously pressing the shutter button.
Natalie's lips curled up, smile like a winner.
She entered the elevator with Dermot, and just as she was wondering what would happen when they woke up tomorrow morning, she caught a glimpse of Dermot making a phone call.
She snatched it away and quickly hung up.
"Dermot, I don't want to hurt you, so you’d better behave," she said, putting Dermot's phone into her own bag.
She didn't choose to turn it off. If Dermot were to go missing, Todd, the assistant, would quickly come looking for him. The show had just begun, and she certainly couldn't let anyone interrupt.
