Chapter 841 Something Big Happened
Evelyn glanced at him but didn't push it. If he said so, she would take it as it was.
"Don't worry. Love's all about timing. You'll find the right person eventually," Evelyn smiled, trying to comfort him.
Wade nodded, feeling the same. He believed he'd meet the right person; it was just a matter of time.
Later, Evelyn and Wade had dinner together, and Wade drove her back to Kyte Manor. But the next day, all the major news sites were buzzing about her and Wade, claiming they were a couple.
Evelyn saw the news right after finishing the surgery. Noticing everyone at the hospital staring at her, she knew something was up. She pulled out her phone and sure enough, it was all about her.
She was baffled. It was just dinner with Wade, and he was a gentleman driving her home. How could this cause such a misunderstanding?
Plus, she wasn't even a celebrity. Did these reporters really need to follow her every move?
Soon, Wade called. He apologized and told her not to worry; he'd handle it.
Evelyn agreed, believing that Wade could handle such a small matter without her needing to step in.
After hanging up, Evelyn walked out of the hospital. She couldn't care less about what others thought.
She hadn't even reached Kyte Manor when her phone rang again. Thinking it might be Joshua or Dermot, she checked but saw it wasn't.
"Jennifer?" Evelyn was puzzled. Ever since Jennifer took over the bar as manager, she rarely called unless it was something important.
"Boss, something big happened," Jennifer said anxiously.
Evelyn had asked her to use her name, but Jennifer insisted on calling her boss out of respect.
Evelyn found it exasperating but let it slide. It was just a title, after all.
Hearing Jennifer's anxious tone, Evelyn tensed up. "Don't worry, what's going on? Take your time."
"Where are you? I'll come to you and explain in person." Jennifer's tone was urgent, as if she wanted to appear in front of Evelyn immediately.
Evelyn thought for a moment. "I'll come to the bar. I'll be there soon."
"Okay, I'll wait for you here." With that, Jennifer hung up.
Before long, the cab stopped at the bar. Evelyn looked up at the sign, "The Rusty Lantern Pub."
She walked in.
Maybe Jennifer had given a heads-up because as soon as Evelyn entered, someone led her to the room where Jennifer was.
Evelyn had never disclosed her connection to the bar and rarely came here, not wanting it to be targeted. If people knew it was related to her, who would feel safe revealing information here?
"You're finally here." As soon as Evelyn stepped into the office, Jennifer got up and walked towards her.
Evelyn looked at Jennifer, now dressed in professional attire, completely different from before. She had to admit that Luke was good at training people.
"What happened?" Evelyn asked directly, not wasting any time.
