Chapter 1199: Thank You

When the plane finally touched down at Golombia Airport, Evelyn could finally chill out.

Even though Dermot had been trying to calm her down since they got on the plane, she couldn't really relax until they hit Golombia.

All her worries just poofed away at that moment. Even if Nathaniel showed up in Golombia now, she wasn't scared.

'Cause he couldn't take Bella away.

Blake and Bella were back in Golombia, so naturally, Evelyn tagged along to Kyte Manor.

She hadn't been back in a while. Even though she didn't live there long, Evelyn already thought of it as home.

Kyte Manor was her spot.

All the staff and bodyguards were back at the manor. When Blake and Bella rolled in, everyone lined up and respectfully called out, "Mr. Kyte, Mrs. Kyte."

Blake was all smiles, but Bella felt kinda awkward. "Blake, have them call me Ms. Calderon. I haven't divorced Nathaniel yet, so I can't be your wife."

Blake looked a bit bummed.

"Dad, Ms. Calderon is right," Evelyn chimed in, thinking it was kinda weird to call her Mrs. Kyte right now.

Since Evelyn said so, Blake had to go along with it, and everyone switched to calling her Ms. Calderon.

Once inside the living room, Bella, who was there for the first time, felt a bit out of place.

"Bella, this is your home now. You can change things up however you like, pick your favorite room, and plant whatever flowers you want," Blake told her.

Bella was stoked.

Even though she was over forty, her smile was still as bright as when she was eighteen.

Evelyn didn't want to interrupt their chat, so she took Dermot out to the garden.

"Thanks," Evelyn said as they walked side by side.

Dermot naturally grabbed her hand, pulling her closer. "Evelyn, we're a team. What's yours is mine; your mom is my mom too. No need for thanks."

Evelyn rolled her eyes at him. Only Dermot would say something like her mom being his mom.

"In my heart, you're my wife," Dermot said, wanting Evelyn to realize she hadn't really thought of him as her husband yet.

As they strolled in the garden, Bella had already picked her favorite room and was now on the balcony, watching them walk below.

"What do you think of Dermot?" Bella asked. After all, it was her daughter. Seeing Evelyn and Dermot so close, she couldn't help but worry a bit.

Blake frowned, finding it tough to answer. "Evelyn and Dermot's situation is kinda complicated. I'll break it down for you later, and maybe you can give me some advice then."

"Okay," Bella nodded. "What should I do now?"

"Of course, you should rest up. After a few hours on the plane, you must be beat," Blake didn't want Bella to stress and hoped she'd get some rest.

Bella was indeed pretty tired, not just from the flight but also from worrying since the day before.

She knew Evelyn would come to rescue her while Nathaniel was away, so she hadn't slept all night, mainly fearing something would happen to Evelyn.

Now that everything was sorted, her exhaustion hit her all at once. "I'll rest for a bit then."

"Okay," Blake nodded and then left the room, not wanting to disturb her.
