Chapter 206 What Are You Up To?
Thinking this, Dermot picked up his phone and called Todd, "Have someone keep an eye on the Stanley family. I want to know everything they do, especially Oliver."
After saying that, Dermot hung up the phone and rubbed his temples, feeling exhausted.
However, there were still many files piled up in front of him, and he couldn't immediately go back to rest, so he had to bury himself in work.
After sleeping the whole night, Evelyn felt full of energy. After settling the two children, she went to the hospital to report for duty.
The hospital understood that she had just experienced an earthquake and thought she might be traumatized, so they forced her to take a few days off, even though Evelyn felt she didn't need it. But the hospital insisted, so she nodded.
As she left the hospital early, Evelyn found herself without anywhere to go for a while. While she was contemplating, Ruby Kite called her.
"Evelyn, are you okay?" she asked casually.
Evelyn pretended to be angry, "Fortunately, I'm fine. If I were really in trouble, do you think I could answer your phone call?"
Ruby Kite apologized, "I know you're fine."
When Ruby Kite heard about the Willowbrook earthquake, she wanted to rush over immediately, but Craig told her that Dermot had already gone and with him there. Evelyn wouldn't be in any danger.
Even so, she still worried, but Craig wouldn't let her go. He even had someone keep watch over her and didn't allow her to leave the house. That's why she couldn't make it over.
Now, she called Evelyn because Craig told her that Evelyn had returned to Moris City, so she called to confirm.
"Where are you? Let's have lunch together." Since she had nothing to do now, and it had been a long time since she had a meal with Ruby Kite, she casually suggested.
Ruby Kite, however, hesitated and didn't agree. She looked at Craig sitting across from her, clearly indicating that he wouldn't let her go.
"I have something to do today. Let's have lunch another day," she said.
Evelyn frowned, instinctively feeling that something was off with Ruby Kite. "What's going on? Ruby, what are you really up to?"
Next, Evelyn heard a man's voice over the phone, "She is with me. Does Ms. Kite want to join us?"
Evelyn, "..."
"Who are you?" Until now, Ruby Kite had not told her the name of that man.
However, the man didn't answer, but hung up directly. When Evelyn called back, Ruby Kite's phone was already turned off.
Evelyn was really angry. Ruby Kite, you just forget your friend when you find a boyfriend. Let's see how you will repay me!
She didn't want to bother anymore, as long as Ruby Kite wasn't in danger.
She hailed a taxi and went to the welfare institution to find out what happened, and also to inquire about potential suitable adoptive parents recently.
At the Victoria Villa, Ruby Kite watched Craig hang up Evelyn's call and turned off her own phone. She felt somewhat annoyed.
"What are you doing? Evelyn is my friend!" She glared at him, thinking that this man was too dominant.
But Craig didn't care at all. He walked over to Ruby Kite and bent down, lifting her chin. "No matter how good a friend is, they are not as important as being with your own man, understand?"
"Man? What are you to me? Boyfriend?" Ruby Kite sneered.
Even until now, Craig hadn't officially answered about their relationship. Ruby Kite felt like she was someone's dirty secret.
She really liked the man in front of her, but she no longer wanted to continue being with him. She decided to cut her losses in time, but she hadn't figured out how to say it yet.
When she mentioned this topic again, Craig didn't look good either. "Is it just a title that you care about? Will it make you happier if I answer that I'm your boyfriend?"
