Chapter 344 Please Keep It Confidential

She hadn't been present at the scene, but the whole hospital was talking about it. It would be hard for her not to know.

Evelyn shook her head, grabbed her bag, and stood up. "He's fine. Let's go; didn't we make plans already?"

After all, it was a blind date, and Evelyn thought it was best not to be late for the first time.

"Okay." Marina didn't ask further. If Evelyn said it was fine, then it must be fine. She had this inexplicable confidence in her.

They got into Marina's car and left the hospital, unaware that across the street, Robert, who had been chased out of the hospital by the director, hadn't gone far. He was standing by the roadside, watching their car drive away.

With a sinister face and a menacing expression, he muttered, "Bitch! I won't let you off easily. Just you wait!"

At the Doyle Group, Dermot had just finished a meeting when he felt a slight unease. He took out his phone and called Evelyn. "Are you off work?"

"Um." Evelyn nodded. "How about on your end?"

"Just finished a meeting. I have to meet a client later." Dermot replied, feeling relieved after hearing Evelyn's voice.

"Okay, drink less alcohol." Evelyn reminded.

"Yeah, you should also take care and call me if anything comes up."

They hung up the phone. Evelyn placed her phone down and looked up to find Marina smiling at her. "Eve, this must be your boyfriend, right?"

From Evelyn's tone, Marina was sure that the person on the other end of the phone was Evelyn's boyfriend. She had never heard Evelyn speak so tenderly to anyone before.

Evelyn cleared her throat and didn't deny it either. "Just focus on driving. Why are you so curious?"

Marina understood that this was Evelyn's way of admitting it, and couldn't help but laugh. "Who is it? Do I know him? Is he from the hospital?"

Evelyn shook her head, but then became uncertain. Dermot was a major shareholder of the hospital, so... could he be considered a part of the hospital too?

"I guess so," she whispered, not very certain.

"Considered?" Marina didn't quite understand what she meant. Was he not a doctor but instead part of the administrative department?

Evelyn glanced at her and didn't plan on saying more. "When the time is right, you'll naturally know. For now, let's keep it a secret."

She hadn't thought about how to publicly announce her relationship with Dermot yet. It all felt a little strange.

Her ex-wife suddenly becoming her girlfriend would be strange for anyone who knew about it.

Marina didn't ask further. If Evelyn didn't want to talk about it, she had her reasons. Marina would just listen.

Soon, they arrived at the restaurant they had agreed upon. They got out of the car and walked inside.

During the journey, Marina kept chatting with Evelyn. She learned that the other person hadn't arrived yet, which made her complain a little, "He's late for our first meeting, Eve. Do you think he doesn't care at all?"

Marina was worried about making a bad impression, so she came early, but the other person hadn't arrived ahead of time. It made her uncomfortable.

"Maybe the other person is someone who likes punctuality? Don't overthink it. Let's talk about it when he arrives." Evelyn didn't think there was an issue just because the person hadn't arrived early. As long as he arrived within the agreed-upon time, it was fine.

Hearing her words, Marina could only stop her complaints. She hoped the person would arrive on time. If he dared to be late...

Perhaps it was a case of "ask and you shall receive." It was already half-past six, the agreed-upon meeting time, but the other person still hadn't shown up. Marina's face turned dark.

Despite her seriousness and even bringing Evelyn along, the result was this?

Unable to hold back her anger, she called her mother. "Mom, who did you introduce to me? The first meeting and he's late. He still hasn't arrived. What does he mean by this?"

It's unclear what Marina's mother said on the phone, but Marina angrily hung up.

"Eve, I'm sorry. I didn't know the other person would be late.

Marina felt guilty. She had already delayed Evelyn by asking her to accompany her, and now that person was late as well. How outrageous! Absolutely outrageous! At this moment, Marina felt there was no need to meet anymore. Her impression of the blind date, who hadn't shown up, was already extremely poor.

Evelyn rushed over to Marina and pulled her to a seat. "It's alright, let's just have a meal together. Whether the other person comes or not, it doesn't matter much."

Although Evelyn said that, Marina was still angry. Just as Marina was about to make a voice call to the person, the restaurant door swung open, and a man walked towards them.

"Hello, I'm Evander. Sorry for being a little late. There was some traffic on the way," he said, but his gaze was fixed on Evelyn, regretting that he arrived late.

Marina was already angry and saw him staring at Evelyn. She said, annoyed, "I'm Marina, the one on the blind date."

"Oh? Really?" Evander shifted his gaze to Marina, a clear disappointment in his eyes.
