Chapter 129 Not Interested in Either of You
The two exchanged sharp words while Evelyn lowered her head and ate her food, ignoring them.
Just as they were about to start a fight, Evelyn looked up and glanced at them, saying, "I'm not interested in either of you."
Greg: "..."
Dermot: "..."
She put down her chopsticks and said to Greg, "You guys continue. I'm full and I'll go back first."
"Evelyn..."
While they were talking, Evelyn had left the private room, leaving Greg feeling regretful. He shouldn't have argued with Dermot at not only was it meaningless, but it upset Evelyn.
Dermot, was in a good mood. He picked up his cup and leisurely sipped his tea, saying, "It seems that you're not her type either."
That put his mind at ease.
"Well, at least I'm better off than you, her ex-husband!" Evelyn had left, and Greg no longer maintained any gentlemanly demeanor in front of Dermot.
Dermot didn't mind, in fact, he was proud. "At least I'm her ex-husband, but you have no relationship with her at all. So, Greg, please refrain from disturbing Evelyn in the future."
"Who is the one disturbing Evelyn, after all? Mr. Doyle, don't pretend to be oblivious," Greg sneered, getting up from his seat.
Greg left, but Dermot remained sitting in the private room, slowly sipping his tea, lost in thought.
Back at home, Evelyn washed her face, her lips, which were almost rubbed raw. "Damn Dermot!" she muttered as she wiped them. Her mood was unpleasant.
She came out of the bathroom holding her phone and sitting on the sofa, dialing Aidan's number.
When her mood turned awful, someone had to have bad luck.
It had been so long, and it was time to deal with the Barns family. Otherwise, they would think she had forgotten about that debt.
On the phone, she told Aidan about Keith's proposal for cooperation, and he agreed with her thoughts. They could benefit from swallowing up the Barns family, both Keith and themselves. It was crucial in the current situation.
Aidan had no objections, but he cautioned, "Can we trust Keith? Could he be colluding with the Barns family to set a trap for us?"
It wasn't unjustified suspicion. Keith had always had a bad reputation and had pulled off many deceitful acts.
Evelyn pondered before saying, "I don't think so. I believe he is more eager to swallow up the Barns family."
"Since you say so, I trust you," Aidan replied.
Evelyn felt grateful. She knew that Aidan didn't have to cooperate with the Kartland family. with careful planning, they could swallow up the Barns family, but it would take a long time. Unfortunately, what she lacked most at the moment was time.
After hanging up the phone, Evelyn tried to keep busy. Whenever she had a moment of leisure, Dermot's face would pop into her mind, making her itch with anger.
Dermot returned to his apartment. He stood in front of Evelyn's door for a long time, wanting to knock but lacking the courage.
He started to feel that his previous actions might have been a bit excessive. Would it make Evelyn dislike him even more?
But he didn't regret it. The taste of that kiss was something he still savored. Regardless, he still felt a little uneasy. If Evelyn developed any aversion, wouldn't it cause their recently mended relationship to freeze again?
He took out his phone and sent a message to Evelyn, but after waiting without a reply, he turned back and returned to his own home.
