Chapter 262 Dead?
Evelyn thought Wednesday would be an ordinary day.
But when she received a call from the prison and learned of Nathan's death, she stood still for a long time, unable to snap back to reality.
Half an hour later, she appeared inside the prison.
"How did he die?" she asked the warden, worried that Nathan was silenced by Natalie.
But it had been too long since the incident happened, wouldn't it be too late for them to silence him now?
Soon, the warden's words dispelled her doubt: "Suicide."
"Suicide?" Evelyn couldn't control her raised voice, "How could he have committed suicide?"
Nathan's face flashed in her mind. No matter how she looked at him, he didn't seem like someone who would commit suicide. So how could he suddenly end his life?
"We're not sure what happened. When we found him, he had already crashed into the wall," the warden replied.
Evelyn had too many questions in her mind, but it was useless to ask now. She requested to see Nathan's body, and the warden allowed it.
Soon, Evelyn saw Nathan's body in the morgue.
After careful examination, Evelyn had to admit that he did indeed commit suicide. There were no signs of it being staged.
Coming out of the prison, Evelyn looked up at the gloomy sky, feeling particularly conflicted.
Nathan had helped Natalie harm her, and his hands were stained with Kenny's life. He deserved to die, but... thinking about the reasons behind his actions, Evelyn felt that it wasn't a crime deserving of death.
Having him spend the rest of his life in prison would have been the greatest punishment for him.
But he suddenly committed suicide, without any reason. It really perplexed her.
A black Maybach stopped in front of her, and Dermot got out. "Did people see it?"
"Yeah, suicide," Evelyn replied, looking at the person next to her, "Why do you think he committed suicide?"
"I don't know, maybe he felt guilty?" Dermot offered his own speculation.
Evelyn found this to be unlikely. If he truly felt guilty, he would have committed suicide long ago. Why wait until now?
Seeing that she had many doubts in her mind, Dermot consoled her, "But he's a criminal, why do you care so much?"
"He's different.
Evelyn sighed in her heart. To her, Nathan was different from all the other people who wanted to harm her. He took risks to save his sister and, though it may have seemed despicable to outsiders, he was probably the greatest person in the world to his sister.
Evelyn didn't want to sympathize with him, nor did she want to forgive him. However, she thought it would be good for him to spend the rest of his life in prison, receiving punishment but not losing his life.
But now, he was dead.
"Don't think too much, let's go back first," Dermot didn't know what she was thinking, but it was clear that Evelyn was not in a good mood at the moment.
Evelyn nodded and got into Dermot's car, and the two of them quickly left.
Meanwhile, Niall also learned the news of Nathan's suicide and was stunned.
Dead?
He just said a few words, and he chose to commit suicide?
Niall was angry and wanted to curse. He didn't think he was wrong, but he felt a constant uneasiness in his heart, as if he had done something wrong.
Aidan noticed something was wrong with him and forced him to speak up. Without hiding anything, Niall explained the whole situation.
"Even Evelyn said she didn't care, why did you still go to see him?" Aidan sighed, feeling that Niall was going too far.
"I just thought it wasn't fair to Evelyn. I couldn't even confront him to let off some steam?" Niall stubbornly persisted, still feeling that he was not at fault.
He just didn't expect Nathan to be so fragile mentally. It was strange that such a weak-minded person would dare to kill someone.
