Chapter 844 Not Enough!
Wade was fuming. "What makes you think you can leave just because the engagement is off?"
"Wade," Lucia called softly.
"You really think I brought you here to make you Mrs. Allen?" Wade sneered.
Before Lucia could answer, he continued, "I brought you here to be a servant, to pay for what you did to me."
Lucia felt a pang of injustice. "But I've been doing this for so long. Isn't it enough?"
"Enough? Of course not!" Wade stared at her intensely. "You schemed against me, and now you think you can just walk away? Dream on."
Lucia's heart sank. Did this mean she had to serve him forever? Even if he got married and had kids, would she still be stuck here, serving his whole family?
The thought made her shiver with fear.
Tears welled up in her eyes. "Mr. Allen, I know I was wrong. Please let me go. I promise I'll never bother you again."
"Get to the kitchen and cook," Wade didn't care what she said, he just flung her hand away and walked to the sofa to sit down.
Lucia didn't move. She looked at Wade on the sofa, then at the door. It was so close, yet she had no chance to get out.
Determined, she gritted her teeth and decided to head straight for the door, no matter what Wade said..
"Lucia! Don't you dare!" Wade's voice thundered behind her, but she didn't stop. She ran, leaving her luggage behind.
She had once been eager to come here, and now she was just as anxious to leave.
Sometimes, Lucia thought it was fate. If she had listened to her parents and not moved in with Wade so soon, would she have avoided all this torment?
Tears streamed down her face. Her parents were divorced, her mother was leaving, and her father had abandoned her. If she stayed, Wade might torment her to death, and no one would care.
Wade was furious but didn't chase her. This was his territory. Without his permission, not even a mosquito could escape, let alone a person.
Sure enough, two bodyguards dragged Lucia back into the living room.
Wade glanced at her, seeing the fear in her eyes. "Run! Didn't you want to run?"
Lucia stayed silent. She had lived in the villa for so long, coming and going freely, never realizing there were bodyguards.
"Lucia, get it through your head. You're not the Kyte family's daughter anymore," Wade said, grabbing her jaw.
Lucia tried not to cry but failed.
"If you want to leave so badly, why don't you get Evelyn to help? If she asks me to let you go, maybe I will," Wade taunted.
Before Lucia could respond, he added, "But will she help you? Think about what you did. Do you regret it now?"
"You're tormenting me to vent her anger, aren't you?" Lucia's heart ached.
Wade raised an eyebrow, not denying it. "Yeah, she and I are both Mr. Smith's students. Do you think you can bully us?"
