Chapter 659 Reach a Cooperation
"You are not cooperating with the Doyle family. You are cooperating with me." Dermot felt there was a distinction between the two, especially since the Doyle family was not under his control yet.
Evelyn raised an eyebrow at his words, not surprised. "If you are cooperating with me, do you think you have the capital for it?"
In Evelyn's view, the current Dermot did not have the qualifications to cooperate with the Kyte family.
"This is a kind of investment. After I take over the Doyle family, we can naturally cooperate better." Upon hearing Evelyn's words, Dermot was not angry. He knew he was not yet qualified to cooperate with the Kyte family, but when he was qualified, he might not necessarily collaborate with them.
Evelyn fell silent, looking at Dermot in front of her, unsure where he got his confidence from. "Are you so confident that you will inherit the Doyle family? Haven't you thought that no matter how well you do, Mr. Doyle will not hand over the Doyle family to you?"
Evelyn and Randy Doyle had only met once, but that meeting alone was enough for her to know that Randy was not that simple.
"This is my business..."
"This is not just your business. I need to ensure that my investment will yield returns. No one wants to make a failed investment," Evelyn interrupted Dermot.
Dermot remained silent and, after a while, said, "With the support of the Kyte family and the Martin family, my chances are high."
"The Kyte family and the Martin family are just external forces. We cannot openly support you either. I need to know where your confidence comes from." Openly supporting Dermot might offend Randy in the end, and they wouldn't do that until Dermot was sure he could accept the Doyle family.
Dermot glanced at Evelyn and said calmly, "My confidence naturally comes from my abilities. If the Doyle family wants to use me to train others, they will have to see if they can handle me in the end."
It turned out that Dermot also knew that Randy wanted to use him to train others. Since he dared to come to the Doyle family, he must have had some confidence.
"Alright, let's temporarily reach a cooperation." Even if Dermot didn't say these things, Evelyn would have agreed to cooperate.
It was just a matter of finding some words to say to Dermot, just to figure out what he was really thinking.
With the cooperation settled Dermot's furrowed brow relaxed.
Shortly after, the waiter brought the dishes, and the two ate, the atmosphere becoming harmonious.
"The last time Eugene had dinner with you, was it about cooperation?" Dermot asked casually.
Evelyn nodded. "It was about the piece of land in the south of the city. They suddenly wanted to cooperate with Kyte Group, which I found suspicious, so I came to take a look today."
"You are very cautious," Dermot remarked.
Evelyn looked at him and felt that the Dermot in front of her was acting strange as if he had never known her.
She wasn't cautious just today; she had always been cautious. Dermot should have been well aware of this.
While eating, Evelyn couldn't help but ask, "The people who were chasing you before were from the Doyle family. You should know, right?"
"I know." Dermot nodded. It was precisely because he knew that he was determined to return to the Doyle family.
Since someone was so afraid of him coming back, he was determined to return.
"During the time you were missing, nothing happened to you, right?" Evelyn still didn't know exactly what happened to Dermot during his disappearance.
Dermot looked up at her, and although he could see the concern in Evelyn's eyes, he ultimately did not mention his amnesia.
"Nothing happened. I was just luckily rescued," he replied.
"That's good then." Evelyn continued eating without further questioning.
