Chapter 1017: Just Miss You a Little

"Dermot, what are you doing?" Evelyn snapped, annoyed. She hadn't expected him to move in, especially so close.

Dermot grinned, thinking the villa's location was perfect. With Evelyn and Joshua in the same building, he could see them anytime, which was super convenient.

"Had lunch yet?" Dermot asked.

Evelyn nodded, finding him dull. "You seem pretty idle."

"Not really, just missed you a bit," Dermot said with a deep, affectionate look. Evelyn's ears turned slightly red, feeling a mix of emotions.

Just as Evelyn was about to speak, Joshua's window next door opened. He glared at Dermot and said coldly, "Dermot, ever heard of disturbing the peace?"

"Oh? Is it that loud? Maybe someone's restless and can't sleep," Dermot mocked.

Joshua didn't want to argue and turned to Evelyn. "Evelyn, if you need to talk to him, do it elsewhere. I want to rest."

"Sorry, Joshua," Evelyn apologized, noticing his bad mood. "You rest well; we won't bother you."

"Okay," Joshua replied, then closed the window, seemingly ready to rest.

Evelyn waved at Dermot, but he quickly called her. "What?" she asked, puzzled.

"Is this okay? Don't leave, just let me see you." They talked on the phone, looking at each other from across the way.

Their voices lowered, and even Joshua couldn't complain.

Joshua stood behind the window, peeking through the curtain. Seeing Dermot's smile, he felt a surge of anger.

Could he still not win against Dermot?

That afternoon, Dermot and Evelyn talked on the phone for two hours until they ran out of things to say and hung up.

Less than an hour later, Dermot showed up again, this time knocking on Joshua's villa door.

"Mr. Garcia, not inviting me in?" Dermot stood outside, looking at Joshua.

Joshua felt like killing him. He had never found Dermot so annoying.

But he forced a polite smile. "Please come in."

Brandon opened the door for Dermot with a hint of hostility, and everyone noticed Dermot wasn't alone.

Behind him stood an elderly man with blonde hair, who looked familiar to Evelyn.

Once inside, Dermot introduced the man as a world-renowned spine specialist, the leading authority on treating Joshua's injury.

"Mr. Garcia, I brought Dr. Gray to see you. He's highly skilled and might find a solution," Dermot said.

Despite his dislike for Joshua, he genuinely hoped for his recovery and had gone to great lengths to find a doctor.

Joshua hadn't reacted yet, but Evelyn was excited. "Dr. Gray, hello. I didn't expect to see you in person."

No wonder he looked familiar; he was frequently mentioned in textbooks. Even though she didn't specialize in spine medicine, she had heard of him and was thrilled.
