Chapter 1131: I Suggest You Don't Go.
Evelyn couldn't help but sneak a peek at him. "Looks like life's been treating you pretty good lately."
"Obviously." Niall shot a quick glance back at the hospital room. Lucky for him, Aidan inside couldn't hear their convo. "But hey, still not as good as you, Evelyn. How's the honeymoon?"
"Honeymoon? Quit talking nonsense!" Evelyn snapped. They weren't even hitched, so where'd he get that idea?
Niall covered his mouth, chuckling, "Isn't that so?"
"Come on, go find your Lily." With that, Evelyn got up and left. But she didn't bounce from the hospital; she headed to Virgil's office to let him know she was back and ready to work.
"No rush; you still got some annual leave left. Take a few more days off," Virgil said, not buying her eagerness to get back to work.
Evelyn frowned, but Virgil continued, "The schedule's already set for the next few days. Hang tight; some folks need to take leave."
"Okay." Evelyn didn't push it, figuring she could use the downtime to sort out the mess with Aidan and Phoebe.
But she had no clue how to fix it.
Leaving the hospital, Evelyn realized she was kinda lost on where to go.
She'd been crashing at Joshua's villa, but now that he was gone, she couldn't stay there.
After mulling it over, Evelyn decided to move back to her old apartment.
Just as she was about to grab a cab, her phone buzzed. It was Dermot. "Where you at?"
"At the hospital entrance. You done over there?" She knew he went to the police station to deal with Craig. By now, he probably bailed him out.
Dermot replied, "Yeah. I'll come get you."
Evelyn thought for a sec and didn't refuse, waiting for Dermot to show up.
When Phoebe rolled up to the hospital, she spotted Evelyn at the entrance and looked surprised. "Weren't you and Dermot on some vacation abroad? When'd you get back?"
"Just got back," Evelyn replied. Seeing Phoebe there, she was a bit puzzled. "You here for a prenatal checkup?"
Phoebe shook her head. "Nah, I'm here to see Aidan."
"See him?" Evelyn was surprised. Right now, Aidan probably didn't want to see Phoebe.
"I want him to let Craig go. Craig hit him because of me. I can't let Craig end up in jail." Phoebe was desperate. She had no pull in the Irvine family, and no one else was willing to help. Those vultures couldn't wait for Craig to go to jail so they could snatch up the Irvine family's assets.
Evelyn raised an eyebrow, kinda getting Phoebe's drift. "I suggest you don't go. Aidan probably doesn't want to see you right now."
"I know." Phoebe smiled bitterly. "This time it's my brother's fault. I just want to apologize to him."
"No need. Craig's already been bailed out. You can call him and check." Seeing Phoebe with her big belly, Evelyn thought it would be risky for her to go in and possibly clash with Aidan.
Phoebe's face lit up. "Really?"
Evelyn nodded. Phoebe didn't waste a second and called Craig. Sure enough, Craig had been bailed out by Dermot.
After hanging up, Phoebe looked at Evelyn with gratitude. "Thanks for helping my brother."
"I didn't help him; it was Dermot." Evelyn quickly waved her hand. If she had really helped Craig, Aidan would've chewed her out.
All she did was not stop Dermot when he went to bail Craig out.
