Chapter 813 What Does It Have to Do with Me?
Evelyn turned back to the banquet hall and bumped into Margaret, who had red eyes and seemed upset.
"Evelyn, you really have some capabilities," Margaret said. Her anger flared up as soon as she saw her.
Evelyn was baffled when she heard it. She hadn't provoked Margaret tonight, had she?
She remained silent, but Margaret continued, "Dermot wants to break up with me. Was that your idea?"
Dermot wanted to break up with her?
Evelyn was even more confused. She had just mentioned that Dermot didn't need to rely on Margaret, but for him to turn around and break up with her so decisively was a bit too much.
However, while she was thinking about it, she smiled and said, "What do you mean, Ms. Martin? I don't quite understand."
"Evelyn, stop pretending. If you hadn't said something to Dermot, why would he suddenly want to break up with me?" She had seen Dermot leave with Evelyn, and when he returned, he mentioned the breakup. There was no way she could believe it had nothing to do with Evelyn.
Evelyn scoffed and asked, "Aren't you and Dermot just business partners?"
Margaret was furious. "Business partners? I'm his girlfriend."
Margaret was seething inside. It seemed Dermot had told Evelyn everything.
"Really? If you're in a relationship, what does your breakup have to do with me? If you had a strong bond, why would he break up with you over a few words from me?" Evelyn wasn't afraid of Margaret. Although the Martin family was stronger than the Kyte family, Margaret wasn't stronger than her.
Margaret didn't have as much influence in the Martin family as Evelyn did in the Kyte family.
Margaret shot her a look, teeth clenched in anger. "Do you know what your behavior is called? You're a homewrecker."
This time, Evelyn couldn't hold back and laughed out loud. "Ms. Martin, you must be mistaken. Dermot wants to break up with you because he thinks you're not that useful anymore."
"Evelyn!" Margaret's face turned pale with anger, but she didn't know how to refute it. After all, what Evelyn said was true.
Given Dermot's current situation, even without their relationship, the Martin family would still cooperate with him. He still had a good chance of securing the Doyle family inheritance.
"Ms. Martin, instead of wasting time getting angry at me, why not think about how to strengthen your power in the Martin family and achieve something on your own? It's better than relying on others." Evelyn sneered, then got up and walked towards the hall.

Unlike Evelyn, Blake had only two daughters and was especially partial to Evelyn, making her path much smoother.
