Chapter 243 Are You Trying to Be a Saint?

Evelyn got up feeling exhausted, changed her clothes, and hurried to the hospital.
She didn't let yesterday's events bring her down. For her, no matter what happened, she would still go to work as usual.

Moreover, at times like this, if she stayed at home, her mind would be even more chaotic. It was better to come to the hospital and keep busy so she wouldn't have idle thoughts.

"Eve, good morning," Marina walked into the office, greeting her.

During this time working alongside Evelyn, Marina had learned a lot. Although her internship hadn't ended yet, several hospitals had offered her job opportunities, so her mood was naturally very pleasant.

Evelyn nodded and forced a smile, but it was quite reluctant. Marina noticed something was wrong.

She walked over, a bit worried, "Eve, what's wrong? Your complexion looks very pale, are you sick?"

"I'm fine, just didn't sleep well last night," Evelyn shook her head. she wouldn't mention Aidan's situation. No matter what, it was their own family matter.

Upon Marina didn't feel relieved. She was still very concerned, "There are quite a few surgeries scheduled for today. Are you sure you can handle it yourself? Otherwise, I can ask the inpatient department to reschedule?"

"No need, I won't affect the surgeries," Evelyn replied.

"I'm just worried about your health," Marina felt that she had misunderstood her own question

Evelyn understood, “I know, but neurosurgery is different from other diseases. Even a one-day delay in surgery can lead to unforeseen complications, so we can't postpone it."

"Okay." Marina didn't say anything more. After being with Evelyn for so long, she had a good understanding of her character and knew that once she made a decision, it was to be changed.

The surgery was scheduled very early, and Evelyn and Marina didn't have much time to talk.

It was time to head towards the operating room and prepare for the surgery by changing their clothes.

If we calculate carefully, Evelyn had been at Moris Hospital for almost six months. The number of patients coming to see her every day only increased.

It's not an exaggeration to say that Moris Hospital had become the most famous hospital in Moris City and the surrounding cities because of Evelyn's reputation.

The director of the hospital was pleased and felt even more confident that his decision to convince Evelyn to stay had been the right one.

Evelyn didn't care about all this; she only cared about her patients.

The surgery started at 8 AM and continued until 8 PM. During Evelyn had almost no rest time, except for meal breaks and restroom visits.

Many doctors and nurses whispered behind her back, calling her an emotionless surgical machine.

In her office, the surgery ended, and Evelyn was tired. She leaned back on her office chair and fell into a deep sleep.

When she woke up, the surroundings were pitch black, or rather, not dark.

She focused her gaze and noticed that not far away, the small desk lamp on the couch was still on, and there was someone sitting there.

"Dermot?" She was uncertain. How did he end up in her office so late at night?

Dermot knew she had woken up. The first thing he did was get up and turn on all the lights in the office, dispelling much of the fear in his heart.

"Haven't you seen a doctor yet?" Evelyn asked, realizing that Dermot's fear of darkness hadn't diminished.

The man avoided this topic and didn't answer her question. "You haven't had dinner yet, right? Even though you have an upset stomach, you don't eat on time. Are you trying to be a saint?"
