Chapter 15
"You won't be afraid that he will look down on you once you are rich."
Marcel retorted, "You also have problems. You haven't been able to keep Dermot's interest for long. It looks like he doesn't like you anymore."
"You!" Because of anger, Cassie's chest rose and fell violently as she wished that she had better parents.
She turned and stormed back inside her room.
Closing the door with a loud sound, she made it clear that she was done talking to them.
When Dermot rushed back to the Doyal Mansion, Evelyn had already left. Looking at the empty living room, he couldn't help but frown.
"Where's Grandpa?" He looked at Bruce and asked.
"Mr. Doyle is in the study," Bruce replied.
Dermot was about to go to the study. Just as he moved, he suddenly thought of something and asked, "Did Grandpa have a guest earlier? I heard a female's voice at the door."
And he also felt that voice was very familiar as if he had heard it somewhere. If Allyson hadn't called him suddenly to interrupt his thoughts, maybe he would have remembered whom it belonged to.
"Yes, Ms. Kyte was here," Bruce replied.
"Ms. Kite? Why was she here?" Dermot's face darkened immediately. He didn't expect that Ruby would seek Randy out.
Bruce shook his head, oblivious to the fact that they were talking about two different people. "I don't know."
Dermot didn't ask any more questions and went directly upstairs to the study.
Bruce didn't know what Dermot and Randy talked about, but he could hear the quarrel coming from the study. So he couldn't help feeling a little worried.
Soon, Dermot came out of the study. Everyone could tell from his gloomy face that he was in a very bad mood at the moment.
"Mr. Dermot," Bruce hurriedly said. "Are you leaving?"
"Yes." Dermot nodded, looked back at the study, and said softly, "Go upstairs to take care of him."
"Okay." Bruce nodded and headed toward the study.
"In the future, don't just let anyone visit Grandpa, especially not the Kites," he said to Bruce.
He didn't expect that Randy would speak up for the Kite family. He wondered what Rudy did to win Randy's favor.
Bruce was slightly taken aback and thought, 'Is Mr. Dermot talking about Ms. Kyte?
'Why does he forbid her from visiting Mr. Doyle?
'It seems that he really hates her. When they were still married, he pretended she didn't exist. Now that they're divorced, he didn't even allow her to visit Mr. Doyle.'
After leaving the Doyal Mansion, Dermot called Todd on the way home. "Tomorrow, inform the Kite Group directly that our cooperation is permanently stopped. And we'll never do business with them again."
The Kite family royally angered him by coming to Randy.
Originally, he only thought about temporarily suspending their cooperation, and they could continue to cooperate in the future. But now.
At this moment, Evelyn didn't know that she had made things worse by asking for Randy's help.
When she got home, she saw Ruby sleeping on the sofa. As soon as she covered Ruby with the blanket, Ruby woke up.
"Evelyn, you're back." Ruby rubbed her eyes and asked in a daze, "Have you had dinner? I saved some for you."
"Yes. Go back to your room and sleep," Evelyn said.
"Fine." Ruby got up and walked towards the room.
"By the way, how is Dermot..." She couldn't help asking as if she just remembered it.
Evelyn walked over, patted her on the shoulder, and said, "Randy has promised to help. There should be good news soon."
"Really? That's great," Ruby laughed. She believed that as Randy had promised to solve the problem for them, her family crisis was over.
However, Evelyn wasn't so optimistic.
