Chapter 1219: I Didn't Say Anything
Bella glanced at the knocked-out Nathaniel, feeling all kinds of mixed up. "Is he dead?"
"Nah, just hit him with a tranquilizer dart. Dude's just out cold. Evelyn said he needs to face the law; can't let him off that easy," Alex replied, then called for someone to haul Nathaniel away.
Before bouncing, Alex turned to Bella and said, "Don't sweat it. You won't be seeing Nathaniel again, like, ever."
Tears filled Bella's eyes, making everything blurry as she watched Alex walk away. She just stood there, speechless.
Blake came over, wrapped her in a hug, and gently said, "Bella, it's done. You can finally live your life now."
"Is it really over?" Bella still couldn't wrap her head around it.
Did that unstoppable Nathaniel really just get nabbed and locked up for good?
Blake nodded firmly. "Yeah, it's over."
"Bella, chill out and get some rest," he said, noticing how pale she looked.
But Bella shook her head. "I'm not tired. If it's really over, I wanna go out and see the world."
"Alright, I'll go with you." Bella had been in Golombia for a while but never left Kyte Manor 'cause Evelyn was worried it wasn't safe outside and told them to stay put.
Now that Nathaniel was out of the picture, Bella could finally roam free.
When Evelyn and Dermot got back, Howard told them the two had already gone out, leaving them a bit helpless.
"This is good, better than being stuck in the past," Evelyn sighed. She didn't save Bella just for her to stay sad and miserable.
"Need help with Nathaniel?" Dermot asked, wanting to pitch in.
But Evelyn had it covered. "Don't worry, I've got it all sorted. Nathaniel's not coming back."
Just the people Nathaniel had killed were enough to get him executed multiple times. This time, he was toast.
"Evelyn, you're so good at this; it makes me feel useless," Dermot sighed, wishing Evelyn would let him take care of her for once.
Evelyn rolled her eyes. "If you want someone soft and helpless, go find Cassie."
Dermot went silent.
"Just forget I said anything." Dermot covered his mouth with his hand.
Evelyn didn't keep teasing him. She'd always been like this and wasn't gonna change just 'cause she was with Dermot. He should've known that by now.
Blake and Bella came back after wandering around Golombia. Seeing Evelyn and Dermot in the living room, they both had smiles on their faces.
"Evelyn, Nathaniel's been arrested," Blake said excitedly.
Evelyn nodded. She'd known for a while, which was why she rushed back. "You can relax now; no one's gonna stop you two from being together."
"Thank you, Evelyn," Bella said, looking at her. Even though Evelyn wasn't super close to her, Bella was really grateful she chose to have her.
