Chapter 182 The House Collapsed

Oliver let go of Natalie, hesitating to say something.

"What's wrong?" Natalie sensed that he wanted to say something and asked proactively.

Oliver decided to tell her the truth, "My father just contacted me and told me that we may not be able to help the Barns family."

"Why?" Natalie was surprised. She married into the Stanley family to gain support. If they couldn't help the Barns family, they would go bankrupt.

It wasn't that she had any sentimental attachment to the Barns family, but she understood that the Barns family was her natal family. If the Barns family ceased to exist, her situation in the Stanley family wouldn't be any better.

Oliver felt guilty and didn't dare to meet her gaze. "Dermot came to see my father. His intention is that if we assist the Barns family, he will take action against them. If we don't help, he won't either."

Natalie's face turned pale, and she bit her lower lip tightly. "Dermot!"

"Natalie, don't worry too much. It's a good thing that Dermot won't take action. Your father can find other people to help. There will be others in Moris City who can assist," Oliver comforted.

Natalie knew deep down that if they could find others to help, the Barns family wouldn't be in their current state.

She looked up, staring at the man, unable to believe that the person she used to despise the most would become her greatest reliance in the future.

"Oliver, if I lose the Barns family, I won't be the rich Miss anymore."

"Willowbrook, 8 o'clock in the evening, Evelyn finished her day's work at the clinic. She didn't expect that although the village was small, there were so many people coming to seek medical treatment.

For several days, she had been busy from morning till night, seeing almost every type of illness.

After freshening up, she lay in bed reading a book.

In these days without internet, reading was the only way to pass the time. Just as she had opened the book and hadn't had a chance to start reading, she felt dizzy.

Turning her head, she saw the bedside lamp shaking violently. After a moment of daze, she realized, 'It's an earthquake!' She jumped out of bed and ran downstairs.

On the first floor, she knocked on the door of the inn's owners and shouted, 'Zhang Aidan! It's an earthquake!'

the door opened and the inn's owners reacted, 'Run! Run to the village broadcast room, it's the flattest place in the whole village.'

What they didn't expect was that the earthquake didn't stop after a few seconds, but instead, a stronger wave of earthquake followed. Even Evelyn and the others standing on flat ground felt unstable, not to mention the villagers who were still at home.

'Collapsed! The houses collapsed!' someone exclaimed loudly, continuously slapping their legs.

On the empty space in front of the broadcast room, more than a dozen villagers had run over. Evelyn stood with them, looking at the collapsed houses not far away, feeling disheartened.

As the intensity of the earthquake increased, more and more villagers gathered on the open space. Everyone crouched on the ground, fearful, and looked at the collapsed houses around them, their hearts filled with despair.

'Be careful!' Just as the words fell, with a loud bang, the broadcast room behind them collapsed, with dust and rubble flying around, affecting everyone."
