Chapter 649 A Narcissist

After dinner, the two of them chatted casually, and to outsiders, their conversation seemed pleasant, even Eugene himself thought so too.

As for Evelyn, she certainly didn't think she would cooperate with the Roberts family, especially since, in a few days, the Roberts family might not even exist.

"I need to go to the restroom." Evelyn got up from the table.

Seeing her leave, Eugene took out his phone to call his father and report on his interaction with Evelyn.

At this moment, Evelyn, who had just reached the entrance of the restroom, was unaware of this. However, she didn't have time to think about those things at the moment.

A tall figure appeared in front of her, and it was clear that the other person was somewhat surprised by her presence.

Evelyn looked at Dermot and was about to say something when she saw his frown and displeased expression, "Ms. Kyte, have some self-respect. I don't like being pestered."

Evelyn was puzzled.

"Dermot, you're too self-absorbed." Evelyn sneered coldly. Since Dermot said that, she didn't feel bad about speaking harshly.

"If anyone’s pestering, it’s you pestering me," she said coldly.

Dermot's frown deepened, almost turning into a knot. "That was in the past, now I won't. So please don't appear in front of me again."

For some reason, every time he saw Evelyn, his felt particularly uneasy.

On one hand, he wanted to get closer, but on the other hand, his rational mind reminded him that this was a psychological issue, and he needed to restrain himself. This strong sense of conflict made him very uncomfortable.

Under such circumstances, Dermot felt that not meeting Evelyn was the best solution.

"Do you think I followed you here?" Evelyn was speechless. This Dermot in front of her was just as narcissistic and arrogant as when they first met.

Dermot raised an eyebrow, neither confirming nor denying.

Evelyn laughed, "You think too much. This restaurant isn't just for you, I'm here with someone, okay?"

With that, she ignored Dermot and walked straight into the restroom, feeling that if she continued talking to him, she would surely be angry to Dermot.

Dermot’s mood worsened because of Evelyn's words. Accompanied by someone?

So Evelyn came to the restaurant with someone else?

Even though he knew he shouldn't overthink, he couldn't help it. He felt that his psychological issues were probably not resolved yet.

When Evelyn came out of the restroom, Dermot was no longer at the door. It seemed he had left.

She gritted her teeth and walked towards the hall.

"What's wrong? You don't look well." Eugene noticed her change and found it strange.

Evelyn took a deep breath, silently cursing herself for being so weak, allowing Dermot to affect her.

"It's nothing. I just ran into a narcissist." Evelyn waved her hand, not wanting to elaborate.

A narcissist?

Eugene was curious, but since Evelyn didn’t want to talk about it, he let it go.

As they continued their conversation, someone came out of the private room. A group of people followed, catching the attention of both Evelyn and Eugene.

Seeing Dermot, Evelyn felt speechless, so he was still here.

However...

A woman was following Dermot, and it seemed they had a good relationship.

Evelyn felt uncomfortable inside...

Dermot also noticed Evelyn and the person opposite her, Eugene. His expression changed slightly, though not noticeably, except to Margaret, who was beside him.

"Isn't that Evelyn and Eugene?" Margaret, as the eldest daughter of the Martin family, naturally knew Eugene.

Eugene? Dermot also remembered.

Since deciding to take over the Doyle family company, Dermot had thoroughly researched the information on the top ten families in Columbia and knew the key figures.
