Chapter 1352 Extra: Aidan and Phoebe (27)
So, the guests finally bailed, and Evelyn's crew took off too. It was just Aidan and Phoebe left at the hotel, even Theodore had been whisked away by the nanny for bedtime.
Aidan had knocked back a few too many drinks. After saying goodbye to everyone, the booze hit him hard, and he was sprawled out on a chair, eyes half-closed like he was about to pass out.
Phoebe walked over, looking a bit worried. "You good?"
Aidan cracked an eye open and wasn't shocked to see her. "Yeah, I'm cool. Get the driver to come over." He was way too hammered to drive himself home.
Phoebe nodded, called the driver, and told him to park at the hotel entrance and come help her get Aidan out.
Putting her phone away, Phoebe reached out to help Aidan. "The driver's on his way. Let me help you up."
"I'm fine. I can walk." Aidan tried to stand, but he was way too optimistic. As soon as he got up, he wobbled and started to fall.
Phoebe quickly tried to catch him, but she couldn't hold him up and ended up falling right on top of him. She didn't hit the ground, but landed smack on Aidan's chest.
Aidan's broad chest made her a bit dizzy. Listening to his heartbeat, her ears turned red.
"Sorry, I..." Aidan started to apologize and tried to get up, but then he froze. Phoebe was looking at him with a gaze that gave him a weird feeling. Then, out of nowhere, Phoebe kissed him.
It was probably a moment of deep emotion, and Phoebe couldn't control herself. She felt like if she didn't do something, she'd be wasting a golden opportunity. Even though Evelyn had told her not to be so forward, she couldn't remember that now.
Phoebe's soft lips pressed against his, and Aidan unconsciously swallowed, feeling an urge to go further. But just as that thought popped up, footsteps at the door snapped him back to reality. He quickly pulled Phoebe up from the ground. When the driver came in, he didn't notice anything off.
"Mr. Brooks, Ms. Irvine, the car's at the door," the driver said.
Aidan responded with a grunt, acting like nothing happened, while Phoebe blushed like crazy.
The driver helped Aidan, and Phoebe followed behind, her heart still racing. She thought, 'I actually kissed Aidan! He must hate me now. Am I that desperate? I promised Evelyn I'd take it slow, so why did I kiss him?'
She was full of regret, and it lasted until they got back to the villa. The driver left, and it was just the two of them again. Only then did she dare to look at Aidan.
Aidan still showed no emotion. He felt her gaze and looked back at her.
"Sorry, I..." She didn't know how to explain herself, or if it even mattered. She was scared Aidan would kick her out.
But to her surprise, Aidan didn't seem mad at all. He just looked at Phoebe and said, "You were so bold just now, why are you so timid now?"
She had already kissed him, and now she was apologizing.
